"Shit!" I screamed in frustration as I fell tripped down the last step of my flats stair. My name is Vanessa Leung, I'm 24 and I'm a doctor and I'm a very clumsy person.
It was saturday morning which meant I had the day off, I decide to go out for a jog when I spot that same neighbor I locked eyes with the other day. He was also in running gear-- I studied him, this man looks familiar but I couldn't point a finger as to where I had seen him. I shrugged to myself as I put my earphones on and started running.
I was about half an hour into my jog when I felt a tap on my shoulder, I stopped and took my earphones off and saw the same man, my neighbor--grinning "Hi" he said, I nodded "Hello" as I watched him offer a hand to me "I'm Tom--your neighbor" "Vanessa, your neighbor" I said as we both laughed as I shook his hand "Mind if I join you?" He asked "No of course not, would be nice to know people outside of work" I said smiling. He smiled back putting his hands in his pockets we walked in silence. "
So you're new here?" I nodded "Moved here from Hong Kong" "Ahhh Hong Kong, I love that place" he smiled to himself "How long have you been here?" "2 months but I moved to Camden 2 weeks ago" I said as we walked back to our flats. "What do you do?" He asked smiling at me before looking down at his feet "I'm a doctor--pediatrics" I said looking at him "But, you look too young to be a doctor" he said, his eyebrows furrowed together "Well I went straight to medical school after I took my pre-med. So here I am now" I said shrugging "You don't look happy though" he said I laughed, "My parents--well my dad forced me to be a doctor, it wasn't really my choice" I said smiling softly "Is he here with you?" "He passed away, a year ago--I had no one else there both my parents were the only child in their family so I decided to move here and start anew--" We reached my flat, I sighed "well this is me. It was nice meeting you Tom" "Um--this might be fairly quick seeing as we had just met but would you like to go out to dinner, tonight?" He asked
I smiled at him "Sure" he smiled widely "Great. Pick you up at 7 then" I nodded "See you then" I said as I entered my flat.
