According to Lucy Barbara, there were three types of falling in love, and each happened for a specific reason:

Our first love comes at such a young age, the idealistic love, the one that seems like a fairytale, and it is the love that makes us feel like we will never love like that again. It is the romance that we believe we be our one and only and it does not matter that it doesn't feel right or that you try so hard to make it work, it's a love that at the time, just looks right, but it isn't and one day you look back and know that it wasn't what real love was, it wasn't even love at all.

Our second love is the hard one, the one that teaches us a lesson about who we are as a person, as well as what we want, and it ends in so much emotional hurt due to lies, anger, manipulation, the list could continue for pages at a time. This is the love that we believe, with absolute certainty, will be our last, the one that is different from the first, but the reality is we are still making much of the same choices, and the two types of love are relatively the same, but this one was really love, it just ended with heart-wrenching pain. It is the love that we wish so hard would end happily.

Our third love is the one that crept up on us from nowhere, completely out of the blue, the one that you never even saw coming. It's the love that looks and feels wrong but it isn't and it destroys any expectations we had of what love should actually be. It is the love that comes so easily that it seems too good to be true. It knocks us off of our feet and does not pressure us to be someone we are not in order to thrive and it continues to linger no matter how long we attempt to ignore it or even suppress it. It is the love that, from the very beginning is completely right.

And to Astrid Kent, for some strange puzzling enigmatic reason, Percy Weasley just so happened to be all three of these loves.

i've literally only written the prologue and I'm absolute trash for astrid and percy. also, this prologue ties both the first and second book together which i'm really proud of.

thanks for reading!
