To say that Harry, Anne and Robin were horrified of the condition of our blankets is an understatement. Harry was also upset about where we were staying as well.
Anne actually cried when I asked if I could wash our blankets before bed tonight and she saw the condition of the blankets. She immeditly decided to give Finn and I new to us blankets that she had in the hall closet as extras in case the power went out.
During dinner, Finn was amazed to sit down at an actual dinner table insted of the long tables we sat at the soup kitchen. He loved every minute of it and was happy to talk to Robin, Anne and Harry; warming up to them quickly.
That night before I was going to put Finn to bed in the guest room that he and I were going to share, Anne had Harry show us where the shower was so he and I could shower before each of us went to bed.
Finn had a hard time working the shower to the point of he was crying because he was so frusterated. I had to go into the bathroom to help him with it.
Once we were snuggled into the warm and very comforatble bed, a luxery neither of us have had in four years. Finny laid his head on my chest as we snuggled under our 'new' blankets with a sigh from both of us. Perhaps I shouldn't have been so stubborn and asked for help sooner.
"Night Papa, I love you," Finn mumbles as he drifts off to sleep.
Gently running my fingers through his hair, I softly say, "Night Finny, I love you, too."
Soon after I hear little snores coming from him, telling me he is completly asleep when I hear a soft knock on the door before it slowly opens revieling Harry.
Smiling at him as he quietly enters the room before he sits down on the side of the bed behind Finn. "How are you doing with all of this? How's Finn dealing with this?" he quietly asks.
Smiling brightly at him, "We're doing well, thank you. It's an adjustment, I'll admit not only for myself but for Finn. He doesn't remember living in a home with his mum. He just remembers where we were living, so some of this is all new but an adventure for him."
Harry smiles softly at me as he brushes my hair out of my eyes. "I'm glad to hear that. I just don't understand how you and he survived as well as you have for as long as you have," he admits in awe. "Especially when you were only 12 and 1/2 years and he was only 2 years old when you became homeless."
Harry chuckles gently not to wake Finn. "I would have cried and been an absolute mess if it were me at 12 and 1/2 years."
Shrugging the shoulder Finn wasn't on, I answer him honestly. "You would have done just fine, Harry. You'd be amazed at what you are capable of doing when you are faced with doing it or subcoming to nothingness."
Harry hums in acknowledgement of my statement. "It is bad of me to wish you and Finn will stay forever and never leave?" His statement seems to honest as does his eyes that it takes me by surprise.
"You and your family will be sick of us, well mainly me, in no time," I tell him just as honestly before I yawn.
"No we won't," Harry says gently but with such conviction that I believe him, just a tiny bit. "I'm going to go and head to bed myself. Sleep tight, Lou," Harry says as he gently stands and heads toward the door.
"Good night, Hazza, and thank you again," I call softly after him.
He stops to turn back to me with a huge smile, showing off his dimples fully. "You're welcome, Lou." Then he was gone. Setteling back down into the bed again, setteling myself comfortably again before shutting my eyes and drifting off to have the best night's sleep I've had in years.
The next morning I wake to Finn gently shaking me on the shoulder. "Papa, I think it's time to wake for school."
Cracking my eyes open, I smile at him. "It's Saturday, Finny, we don't have school." He nods before setteling back down into my hold, wiggeling until he's comfortable and falling back asleep again. My sweet boy.
Just before I fall back asleep there's a gentle knock on the door and Anne walking in as she opens it with a huge smile upon her beautiful face.
"Morning, Louis, I didn't wake you did I?" she asks concerned.
Shaking my head at her as I gently pull myself out from underneath him and lay him in my spot as I climb out of bed. Thankfully I wear sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt to bed.
"Morning Anne, thank you again for everything you and your family are doing for Finn and I." I walk over to her to gently hug her before stepping back slightly embarressed at my actions.
"You're welcome, love. Are you and Finn hungry? I have breakfast almost ready, so if you could come down soon, if you Finn would like to eat with us, you can." She smiles again at me before turning her smile to Finn who's sitting up in bed rubbing his eyes.
"Papa, can we eat here, please? Ms. Anne and Mr. Robin make the best food ever," he asks climbing out of the bed.
"Sure my love, why don't we use the bathroom and then we can head down and eat with them?" I suggest knowing full well that he needs to use the loo.
Finn nods eagerly before excusing himself to the bathroom causing Anne and I to chuckle softly. Anne and I exit the bedroom to head to the kitchen but I wait for Finn in the hallway before we head to the kitchen.
Entering the kitchen with small hand in mine (and mine is small in comparisson to most other men's) and we greet the three other people as we take our plates to place a small amount of food on top.
Robin looks at our plates with a raised eyebrow. "You lads are more than welcome to have more food."
I blush and hang my head. "We're used to small portions, aren't we, love?" I ask Finn. He nods as he takes a bite of pancake with a smile as he chews.
"This is good, Ms. Anne," Finn compliments her after swallowing his bite.
"Thank you, sweetie," she says with a smile of appreciation. We talk lightly as we eat with me sitting in between Harry and Finn and Anne and Robin sitting arcross from us.
"Papa, can we go to the park today?" Finn asks me sweetly as we help Harry wash and dry the dishes.
Smiling down at him as he hands me a plate to place where they belong after he had dried it. "Off course, love, we'll go after we finish helping Harry, alright?" Finn nods excitidly as he dries a fork.
"Can I come with you two?" Harry asks Finn as he gently hands him the last plate to dry.
Finn grins widely up at him as he nods. "Sure! Right Papa?" he asks me innocently.
"Of course Harry can come, love," I assure him with a smile.
Fifteen minutes later, we're putting our coats on before heading out the door for the park. Finn and I were planning on walking to the park which is only three blocks from here.
As Finn and I start down the drive, Harry calls out to us, "Hey Lou! Hey Finn! It is to cold to walk to the park from here. Let's go in the car," he emphasises his point by opening the back passener side door for Finn.
Looking down at Finn to make sure he's okay with riding in the car again he nods as he skips back up the driveway with me following close behind. Finn climbs inside the car, buckeling himself in as Harry gently shuts the door before opening his as I climb in the passenger side.
Spending time at the park with Harry and Finn was very enjoyable as Harry joined Finn and I playing in the sandbox, sliding down the slides, going across the monkey bars (where Harry had to bend at the knees pulling his feet toward his sexy ass since he's so tall) and then Harry insisted on taking Finn and I to the ice cream parlor next door to buy all of us ice cream.
