With a small slender hand she pushes open the window open on the ground level of the colonial style home. It’s white with a red door and a dark gray roof. Nice, she thinks but as she knows too well houses were like people, masks for the truth inside. Her movements are fairly quiet as she crosses the barrier from the outside to inside. Her feet are soundless on the tanned carpet.
There is a large mirror across from the window and she catches herself looking at her own reflection. Her body is dressed in a black hoodie zipped up all the way up with the hood pulled tight as so her white rabbit face mask is only showing. Her dark washed jeans are tight against her legs, so no one could a grip or pull, she’s made the mistake of a baggy pair once before which proved to be a mess. Her feet are clad in her black steel-toed boots while her right hand holds a small hatchet in her hand.
At first glance you would think she was a small boy due to her height but that how was how she prefers it to be. When she has her mask on, she isn’t herself anymore; she is Bunny Face, the renowned serial killer of Lincoln Falls. Looking away from her reflection she walks down the hallway leisurely scanning through the interior of the home.
Everything was magazine worthy and clean, nothing like her own upbringing but she doesn’t dwell on the fact too long. She has other things to worry her mind about. When she catches sight of the staircase she makes her way up the carpeted steps, pleased to hear no squeaks. The first bedroom has a drawn nametag on it saying it belonged to a girl named ‘Sarah’ with odd shaped butterflies and messily pedaled flowers.
This is not the room she is looking for.
Next came a room with no nametag but with the tell tale smell of perfumes. Curious she opens the door and sees a teenage girl with blonde curls sleeping in a large canopy bed. The room was all pink and filled with either fluffy or sparkly things. Nothing she would decorate with but then again she doubts this girl would be in a house doing what she was about to do.
Closing the door she keeps walking down the hallway. At the end of the hallway she sees another door. Opening it slowly and quietly she sees a couple sleeping in the bed. The woman is a blonde in a silk nightgown while the man is dressed in a white t-shirt with the covers around his hips. She tilts her head at the sight before closing the door quietly behind her and locking the door. Pulling off the small backpack she’s had on her back she places it on the small bench at the end of their bed before pulling out what she needs.
A syringe, a vial, ropes and duct tape she pulls the syringe out and stabs the needlepoint into the vial. Pulling back enough to probably paralyze a horse she goes to the woman first and sticks the needle into the woman’s well-moisturized neck. The woman scrunches her face up before rubbing the area and turning around in her sleep.
Bunny doesn’t stick the syringe in the man; no she needs him active and participating. Putting the syringe and vial away she grabs the rope and duct tape and gets to work on trying the man up, he is after all her mark. When she sees the woman’ eyes flutter open she can’t help but admire the panic in the woman’s wide green eyed gaze.
She shoves the woman out of the bed making her fall to the floor in a heap. The woman goes to scream but she can’t, Bunny has made sure of that. In fact the woman is practically paralyzed only able to watch as this strange home invader ties up her husband.
For Bunny this is the ultimate power and the thought makes her smirk under her mask.
Perfectly tied up Bunny straddles the man and smacks him hard across the face. He jumps awake and his wide brown eyes settle on the person on his chest before landing on the ice pick in their hand. He goes to yell but Bunny puts duct tape over his mouth muffling them. With one small finger she brings to her mask’s mouth she tells him to be quiet.
