Back to the Dawns,
The ride to the event's venue was quiet as Mr. Robert handled the wheels and Helen kept powdering her face to keep her makeup intact. Ivan painstakingly endured the ride and occasionally asked if they had arrived at the venue as he wasn't into attending the partythat night. He never fancied those kinds of events, he was more of the 'club' type.
"Mum are we there yet" he asks out of frustration.
"Almost there honey, relax" Helen answered.
"You said that too ten minutes ago! I really can't wait to get out of this suit, this is so not my thing!" he says frustrated.
"Hmph! Speak for yourself" Isabella scoffs. Isabella who had been quiet a through the journey was busy on her phone texting someone who didn't seem to be replying her texts. "Ivan, you're not the only one who feels like jumping out of this car now but we have to attend this party because a certain someone wants it that way" she says looking at her mother who looked back at her through the mirror on her side of the car.
"I don't get it! I really don't! How is it that I want the best for my children yet they never seem to give me credit for anything?!"Helen laments looking at her husband who focused all his attention on driving. Robert was like that, he never uttered a word whenever be was behind the wheels, he said it was a form of distraction that he didn't need. "I'm driving Helen!" he says without looking at her. Helen glared them hissed before shifting her attention back to her makeup mirror.
"Honestly mum, the only reason I'm going to this dinner is to taste some real expensive wine, nothing more" Ivan said.
"Young man, you better keep your act together tonight! This party is in honour of my late friend's son and the press are going to be monitoring everyone, so you had better not misbehave!" Robert scolds as Ivan raises his hands in surrender and rolls his eyes. He turns his attention to look at his sister who seemed to wear a sad look on her face.
"Hey what's up?" he asks
"huh?...oh, um it's nothing" she says keeping her phone in her clutch.
"uh hun..." he says with a hint of disbelief in his voice.
"What?..I'm serious, why don't you mind your business!"
"Waoh! chill alright... No need to get all grumplestilskin" he says before turning his attention back to his iPod.
"Princess I don't wanna see that look on your face when we get to the party tonight. You should smile more, no one's going to approach a steel face." her mum says with a serious face.
"Yeah mum,I know, I know, I get it already!" she said as she held her head in her right hand trying to soothe the migraine she felt coming on.
The rest of the drive continued in silence until they got to their destination. When they finally arrived, Robert packed the car and as they got out, he held Helen at the crook of his arm while their kids followed them with Ivan serving as Bella's escort. When they spotted the paparazzi, Robert smiled warmly while Helen struck a lot of poses trying to get the perfect picture.
