Two days before valentines

Katie was home getting ready for school while Mia was eating breakfast.
Katie just moved so it's her first day at her new school, she was excited but not about the school uniforms... she wore her red sweater tucked in with her high skirt and knee high socks With her white vans. And her hair down with curls at the end of her long light brown hair. Katie had to skip breakfast because she was taking too long to get ready. She ran downstairs to Mia. As Katie went down it made quiet footsteps. Mia screamed "You scared me!!" As Katie went to her and made her jump. As Mia went to Put her bowl and spoon in the sink and grabbed her bag to get ready to head to the bus stop their mother came down. She was yelling and asking "who was screaming?! Haven't you guys heard of SLEEP!?" As Mia stepped up to say it was her Katie pushed Mia behind her right out the door that ended up closing behind her. "It was me.." Katie said as she looked down hoping to not get beaten. As Mia was waiting outside hoping her sister came out laughing while saying "she didn't do anything!" Katie never came out. On the other side of the door was instead the mom lifting Katie's sleeve up and beating her arm and then slapped her in the face. "Get out!" The mom screamed as Katie ran out the door with a shed of a single tear running down her cheek. As the door slammed behind her Mia ran to Katie and hugged her and wiped off the tear from Katie's cheek. "Thank you..but you didn't need to do take the blame." Mia said. "I felt like you shouldn't have to go through that more than me.." Katie insisted. They walked to the bus stop as Katie still found the urge to smile as Mia smiled with her still feeling guilty about earlier. They got on the bus. They sat in the same seat towards the back. Katie's stomach was growling. And her cheek still hurt from being slapped. Well it's time for the first day of school..
