"Hi, Vio!" Red chirped loudly, wearing his usual grin.

It was a sunny day and the two were at the park. Vio was there to read and didn't expect to see his friend. He didn't even know what Red was doing there because the drive from his house to that park was thirty minutes and there was no cars or adults in sight whereas for himself, the park was a two minute walk, he lived across the street from it.

The weather was perfect, and he liked to sit on the bench and read, he didn't expect anything to interrupt him.

"Red, what are you doing here?"

"I got bored at home so I had to bike here, because I knew this was where you'd be! Do you...not want me to be here?"

He flushed and shoved a bookmark into his novel. "Of course not! I mean, of course I do! I just didn't know what you were doing here. How are you, Red?"

"Pretty good, kinda hot, biking here wasn't fun, next time I'm hitch hiking."

"Don't hitch hike, you'll never get here," Vio deadpanned.

"Vio, it was a joke." Red moved some hair out of his face.

"Still," He said with a shrug.

"Let's go over there!" Red said.

"Over wh—And you're gone." He groaned and grabbed his book, tucking it under his arm as he went to follow his chipper friend.

Red, with the spring in his step that Vio felt would make everyone else but Red look crazy for having, walked towards...

Well, Vio had never walked up the hill. They had moved into their new house just a month ago, and he hadn't really gotten a chance to explore the park because...well, he just didn't want to. Instead, he sat down on a park bench to do homework or read. Their old house wasn't too far from their new one, they hadn't changed school districts or anything, just moved out of a small, rat infested, house being rented to them to their own slightly larger, more modern, not infested house that they owned.

There was a large tunnel that Vio had never seen in his life before.

He sighed. "We're going in there, aren't we?"

Red nodded, his eyes full of excitement.

"We don't have a light."

"Don't worry!" Red stomped and his sneakers lit up. He ran through the tunnel, scarlet LED lights the only guide they needed as Vio sprinted after him.

"Why must you be like this?"

"Be like what?" He stopped running, and the light continued blinking before leaving them in darkness.

"Be like...you. Cheerful and energetic, everything I can't manage."

"Well, it helps when I'm with you. You make me happy." He grabbed onto Vio's wrist and tugged him around, now running again.

And then Red ran into a wall, fell backwards, and hit his head in the floor. And his shoes stopped.

"Owwwww..."

"Red, are you okay?"

"Vio, you're stepping on my chest."

"Sorry."

There was choking noises.

"Did I just step on your face?! Oh my goddesses!"

"I'm okay."

"Here, just let me—"

Vio fell.

"Are we just going to chill here?"

"Yep.

There was a brief silence.

"Hey, Vio?"

"Yeah."

"I'mgayforyou."

"I'm gay for you too," He replied after a brief pause.

Red slammed his shoe onto the wall and it lit up before the room darkened again.
