Chapter 14: A confrontation?

Ring! The bell rang throughout the enormous school. The usual sounds of chattering and shifting of furniture echoed throughout the area.

Shoving his books and items hastily into his bag, Takashi pulled the zip close and swung his bag over his shoulders. He shuffled over to his sister who was packing as graceful as she always did.

"Yui-nee, I need to go off somewhere for a few minutes. Please protect yourself," the black-haired male whispered to Yui, onyx irises flashing with worry. "If you are in danger, shout for me. I'll be there as soon as I can, please."

The platinum blonde gazed at the worry-filled expression on her sibling's features and gave a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Taka-kun. I will."

A hand was brought up to rest on the blonde locks of the crimson-eyed girl. Yui could feel the tensed fingers ruffling her hair before they disappeared with the withdrawal of the hand. A small smile was what she last saw before her sibling took off out of the door.

"I wonder where Raven-chan is going...don't you, Bitch-chan?" A sultry voice came from an extremely close distance from the girl's ear. Her heart jumped. Pulling back from the newcomer, Yui swallowed a lump in her throat.

"H-he's just going to the bathroom. He t-told us to go ahead first.." Yui quickly gave an excuse, with the desire to protect her family. Her pale fingers twiddled in nervousness behind her back. Laito raised one of his red eyebrows in suspicion before his usual smiling expression returned.

"If that's what you say, Bitch-chan~" Laito sang and skipped back to his seat. A relieved sigh came from the tensed girl as her crimson-eyes shifted to the door. 'I hope you're ok, Takashi...'

Messing his hair in annoyance, Takashi huffed as he headed to the back of the school. He was worried about the dangers of meeting with an unknown stranger at the start. But knowing how he can easily deal with the vampires he was living with (although he woke up twice with no recollections after two encounters with them), he was confident he could take on whatever came his way.

As he was turning the corner to reach his destination, a voice caught him in his footsteps.

"You're finally here, Komori-kun!"

The mentioned male turned his head and found a girl standing in the shadows of the building. Squinting his black eyes, Takashi could not see the girl well due to the shadows concealing her features. However, he knew where this was going.

The high alertness the male had put up relaxed as he waited for the girl's next words.

The girl was visibly shifting from one foot to another and biting her lips, the only feature on her face that could be seen. 'Nervous.' Takashi mentally commented.

The girl stopped shifting all of a sudden and bowed deeply, her brown locks revealing and bounced due to the momentum. "I love you, Komori-kun! Please go out with me!"

A sigh came from the male. He really expected this, but he could not do this to her for a specific reason. "I'm happy that you think of me as someone that worthy." He bowed in return, "But, I'm sorry to say that I'm not looking to date anyone at the moment so I am going to say no. Though I hope we can become good friends." Putting a smile on his face, Takashi extended a hand to the girl.

The brunette was silent for a long time.

Takashi started to get worried. "U-um, miss?"

"Pfthahahahaha!!" The girl exploded in laughter, grabbing her sides as she straightened back up.

Widened onyx orbs met green ones. "Y-you're the girl from before!" Takashi exclaimed in realisation. The image of the girl falling onto him from before and blushing came to his mind. Now he felt even more guilty. 'Is she laughing in shock of the rejection? What have I done...' The male panicked. "I-I..."

"Oh my, you're still so gullible? You're the same as always." The girl wiped a tear from her eyes as she recovered from the laughing fit.

Onyx eyes hardened as Takashi's guard came back up. "Who are you. I don't think we've met before."

A smirk grew on the girl's expression. "Oh, you'll know...when I feel like saying. Hehe."

Takashi's fist clenched at his sides, suppressing the urge to harm the girl. "I suggest you don't beat around the bush and start the actual conversation now."

The girl giggled under the intense gaze from the black spheres fixated on her. She approached the serious male, closing the gap between them. Her pale hand rose up to pull the necktie of the male.

Takashi's head jerked forwards. Eyes widening in shock, he quickly stilled himself and got his hands ready. He could feel a cold breath brush against his ear. A whisper with a voice akin to a succubus sang into his ear.

"I'll see you next time........

....My Queen."

As if broken from a trance, Takashi jerked awake, his sight refocusing as his senses returned. Swinging a fist, Takashi gritted his teeth and tightened his jaw. His eyes widened as his attack swept through the air easily. Whirling around frantically, the male growled lowly.

She's gone. Whoever this dangerous girl was.

Letting out a groan of frustration, his hand reached up to mess with his hair. Staring at the spot where the girl first came out from, his onyx eyes hardened into a fierce glare.

This meant trouble. And he already had enough of it in the present.

"Shit."

"Oi."

The moment Takashi entered the mansion after everyone, he was called by the person he least expected. Turning around, the male gave a tight smile, "What's the matter, Subaru......-san?"

With a groan, the white-haired vampire turned his gaze away, "You can drop it."

"Ok?"

"By the way," Subaru turned back to face Takashi, his narrowed crimson orbs clashing with confused onyx ones as he cracked his fingers. Takashi gulped a forming lump in his throat, droplets of sweat starting to manifest on his temple. "I haven't had the chance to deal with that stupid stunt you pull!!!"

With a cry, Subaru lunged towards the confused boy, shocking him enough to dodge an incoming fist clumsily before stumbling to escape the growing wrath of the vampire. "Come back here!"

The cries and calls resonated within the walls of the mansion. Looking into the darkened halls, Yui sighed, knowing that her 'brother' was up to his usual antics, but she couldn't help but worry for him. Trying to reassure herself that he would not be killed that easily, the girl meekly returned to her quarters and got to work, after letting an exhausted sigh while staring at the pile of worksheets on her table.

In the darkness, a pair of lips pulled up into a smirk.
