One light step. Two light step. We both walked towards the room as if it was a mile away. When in fact it was just a few steps away.
He walked slowly as I did but right behind of me. And stopped when I did. I felt a bit uneasy, but that's alright, I comforted myself. He's just a friend.
We both slowly stepped inside, and shyly asked him to take a sit. If you're wondering the reason of me being shy was because if I felt something for him then you're completely wrong! I felt shy because my room was hell of a mess. All my staffs were crazily scattered. It looked like a wild beasts ran insanely from here & there. It looked like more of a safari park.
I cunningly moved faster, picking up all the scattered clothes from the floor & couch, placing them in the basket.
"I'm sorry, but my room is a little bit messy."
Though I added the word "a little bit" but it actually was a lie. As the room was messy as hell.
"It's okay, I don't mind."
He said.
It was still okay, even if he did mind. But when he didn't mind then I couldn't think of anymore trouble to fix it.
"Do you want to drink something?"
"I don't drink."
"Don't worry, even I don't drink. It's just "Pocari Sweat."
"Then I'll have one."
He smiled.
This guy seemed like a fool to me. I mean, what kind of guy smile at each and every word. I expected more of a blank face. Anyway, he looked good when he smiled.
His eyes were firmly fixed at me when I opened the door of my refrigerator, it felt a bit uncomfortable. However, I knew quite well, what it meant.
I moved towards him, placed a can of cold drink in his hand & took a sit right next to him on the couch. Before giving him the chance to speak I muttered,
"My dad bought me the refrigerator, because of your girlfriend."
I knew it quite well, that it often startled people to see refrigerator in someone's bedroom, especially, when the person isn't living at a condominium.
"My girlfriend?...."
"Yeah, my elder sister who drive me nuts!"
"Oh.. Okay."
"She used to eat all my food when we both had to share the refrigerator."
He smiled.
It was no joke. I was being seriously serious to my sister's boyfriend. But this guy supposedly took my grief lightly. Still it was good that he was at least listening. People like Farm never cared about it.
But it was not the time to compare him with my best friend.
I couldn't find any topic to talk with him, who was a classmate of mine since kindergarten, boyfriend of my so called sister since I don't know when but I never knew him well. Our eyes have met many times, but still we both were nobody. I never found the opportunity to talk with him, Farm never allowed me. I agree my best friend was possessive of me, but I was at fault in this as well. I was too full of myself, moreover, I was always troubled my James. Hence, making another nerd friend would have meant more trouble.
"Do you like basketball?"
I randomly asked to find about his hobbies.
"No, I never tried."
He smoothly replied, as if his mouth was stuffed with honey.
"Whattt!! You never did? How could you man!! It's the best game to play! It energizes oneself & purifies the soul of mankind. It's not just a game, a source of sheer relaxation. I played it all my childhood, & I still play it. I never get tired of it, no matter what!"
I kept on blabbering till I ran out of words, without giving myself a time to breath. He was awfully staring at me. He's eyes fixed at mine, as if in search of a great unexplored mystery. A sudden tension arose between us which I cannot define precisely. I moved an inch closer to him to take the situation on the extreme level of "sex tension" & carefully took the can of drink from his hand & threw it in the dustbin, killing the awkwardness right way.
"Did you see that? That's a basket."
The can exactly ended up in the dustbin, which was pure indication of my unbeatable basket ball talent.
He remained quite. He wasn't smiling now, as before. He was finally giving me a blank face, which was undoubtedly uneasy for me to handle.
"I need to leave," he said.
This guy speaks softly as a child. It drives me nuts. But I had to behave normal with him.
"Okay! See you in the school," I replied.
He smiled again.
I couldn't express the joy that filled my lungs when he mentioned about leaving. I was really really really feeling awkward with him. Don't get me wrong, I'm very amiable but this time I couldn't afford to be one. Everything I tried to do to be one, reminded me that I was acting. I was acting to get well with him. That's it.
"Go straight to your home!! Okay?-Bye!"
I added, in order to warn him. I didn't want him to have a typical "goodbye-session" with my sister which usual couples have with loads of kisses & hugs. It's so melodramatic, that it makes me nauseous.

After he closed the door behind him. I quickly tapped Farm's number on my cellphone & called him like an obedient spy. He picked my call without any delay, then asked me in details that how I handled the situation.
I of course told him each and everything in detail, apart from the "most-awkward" one. I couldn't dare to tell him that I was really close with a boy, despite of never dating a person before. Farm's mother is a "boys love boys" freak, he's inherited some of it. And if I mentioned him about this then he'd definitely pair me up with Korn. As he did for the rest of the boys in our class.
He even thinks that James is into Klaus, while they both are the most manly guy in our class. And they both have girlfriends.
