Dante's POV
The flight to Italy was long and exhausting.
Rose looked grateful when her feet touched solid ground. When we got in the car she was starring outside the window.
She hasn't spoken to me during the flight only making small talk with Marlene.
I took out my phone checking my emails. I was taking a lot of time out of the office and this was unlike anything I've ever done. My staff are running around like headless chickens, they need to show me why I'm paying them such high salaries.
We drove through a small village with flea markets and people selling handmade crafts along the road.
Looking over to Rose she was starring out of her window in amazement, admiring the new and unfamiliar things around her. I told the driver to stop the car and walked into the thick crowd.
Returning seconds later with a white rocking chair adorned with wooden sculptures of roses flowing in the armrest. I've noticed how she looked at it when we waited for the people to cross the little road.
The young boy looked surprised when I paid him double the price of the object.
I handed it to the car that followed with our suitcases and Marlene. When I got back into my seat next to Rose she turned her face to the window once again.
This two weeks is going to be pure torture if she'll continue to act as if I don't exist.
My temper won't last that long.
My parents live in Menaggio my mother was so excited when I told her me and Rose would be spending our honeymoon here in Italy. She was also eager to bond with Rose over her pregnancy and seeing that she could never have her own children I felt guilty.
We drove into my parents driveway passing the guards outside the big gates. She turned to me looking confused. My father was a very wealthy man and many people didn't admire that of him so he got himself and our family security.
The house was on the top of the mountain overlooking the lake.
Stepping out of the car you could feel the cool breeze. I walked over to Rose and opened her door. She looked at the house in admiration . Maybe some day I can buy her and our child a house just like this one.
My parents waited in the family room. They greeted us both warmly despite what I told them what happened between us.
"We'll go to our room. Rose needs to rest."
She looked at me in surprise probably angry that I was deciding for her.
"You'll be staying in the south wing, so you newlyweds can have some privacy. I agree she does look rather exhausted. Rose you should get some rest I'll send Francesca with a light lunch that you both can have outside on the balcony."
"Thank you mother but that won't be necessary. You can send lunch for Rose only."
Mother gave me a suspicious look then nod her head and gave both Rose and I a kiss on our cheek. Then she and my father walked out the room leaving me and Rose alone.
"You won't have lunch with your wife?" She asked sarcastically.
"Your my wife only in name and it would be better if we stayed out of each other's way. We'll share a bed be as newlyweds should be in front of my parents and their staff. What happened in Vegas should never get mentioned. It was a mistake and one I'm still paying for. I promised I'd never touch you again or harm you in any way."
I carried our suit cases to our part of the house. It was like a little house attached to this bigger one. Marlene was given the cottage in the garden just outside the south wing.
