Dante's POV
After interviewing countless candidates and watching as they either run out crying or telling me what a bastard I was I decided to not make any eye contact with the last candidate.
I shouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the HR calling in sick at the last minute. I wouldn't have been here but I didn't want to trouble the HR department into finding a substitute. Things were still hectic with the new take over and because he's an old family friend I couldn't deny him to take the day off.
But this woman has some nerve talking to me like I'm HER equal. No one has ever dared to speak to me like she just did not even mention challenging me like that. Then she comes along, someone who looks like they've just graduated from school. What would people think of me if they heard about this? I'd be the laughing stock of the year, no of the century!
Dad would be delighted that I've found my match.
My match...
I threw the file onto the table and looked at this woman seated in front of me. I managed to have a look at her when she entered. The way her cherry-red curly hair hang from her shoulders made soft curls on the end that I wouldn't mind tangling my fingers around. When she took her seat opposite me I thought I heard the sound of material ripping. She was so focused on trying to cover her leg she didn't notice me watching her.
When she lifted her head I covered my face with the folder.
The other woman I had interviewed all had this lust and desire look on their faces but she had something else. There was something about her which I found attractive and I won't hesitate to find out what that is that's why I just made up the position of a PA.
The original vacancy which she has applied for will have to get filled by someone else. I've never had someone work this close to me but her cheekiness and smart mouth is something to look forward to. I need something different in my life even if it's just for a little while.
As a child I only wanted to satisfy my father he pushed me to become the best businessman that I can be. I never feared him as his business companions did I only had a love for him. I love mother too with her soft nature compared to his tough and ruthless ways. After I graduated I worked at his company back in Italy being the youngest acting CEO at the age of 25 while he visited abroad. This was his way of grooming me in becoming a powerhouse businessman showing neither fear nor any affection towards my employees and business partners. Only at the age of 29 I began my own company and worked hard so one day it can be just as great as his or even exceed his expectations of me. Father had handed me his company earlier this week so that he could return to Italy. He was getting older and my mother is tired of having to share him with his work. To prove his love for her he retired earlier than he would have liked and moved back home permanently.
I also want that for myself one day... But as for now, have two large organizations to manage. I'm only in Rockdale for two months recruiting more staff so this organization can run smoothly. I can't be stuck in one place for a long period at a time with a company that spreads into many parts of the world. Rose would be like a fresh breath of air in my time being here. I couldn't help but notice the way her dress outlined the shape of her hourglass body. I had to get a hold of myself this woman is nowhere near the 5'8 of the models who would cling alongside me.
When she challenged me saying that I fell in a goldmine just being related to a man of such wealth I wanted to pull her across my lap and make her regret saying those words. How dare she disrespect me in such a way? I could see the fear in her big hazel eyes when she tried to appear brave. Her smart mouth may just keep me sane in my many visits to come here to Rockdale.
