Manik's Nandini

Chapter 6

Manik returned from Office and it's 7 P.M. He knocked the door and Nyonika opened it.
'Mom where is Nandini?' he asked
'She is in her room, Maybe studying' Manik nodded and went upstairs to her room. Before going he took out a cadbury silk from his bag that he bought for her. Keeping his bag in his room, he went to her room with the chocolate.

He saw her arranging her clothes inside the cupboard facing her back to him. He went to her and held the infront of her face and a big smile appeared on her face. She snatched the chocolate from his hand and turned to him, and said 'Thank you Manik' 'sirf thank you?' he asked. 'haan toh or kya chahiyen?' she asked being confused. Manik forwarded his cheek closer to her face. She understood and quickly pecked it. 'aab huan na better reward' Manik said and Nandini chuckled. 'aap fresh ho jaon, then we will talk' Manik nodded and went to his room. Manik freshened up and changed into his T-shirt and tracks. Nandini also finished her work and went to his room and knocked his door 'Manik? Can I come?'
'haan aon, the door is open' Manik said. Nandini entered and saw him sitting on the bed. she sat beside him and asked 'bohut tired hain na aap?'

Manik nodded and kept his head on her lap and lied down. Nandini's heart was throbbing hard, it's the first time Manik is so close to her, and kept his head on her lap. Manik sensed her uneasiness and asked 'kya? friends can't keep their head on each other's lap' 'I don't know' Nandini said being confused. Manik smiled and said said 'I don't know about other friends but I will share my friend's lap' Nandini chuckled and kept pressing his forehead lightly.

'Wow Nandini tumhara haat main jadiu hain, it feels so good' Nandini smiled and carresed his hair lightly. Manik snuggled in her lap more and dozed off. Nandini slowly took a pillow and carefully kept his head on it. Nandini came to her room and thought
Do I like Manik?, No! No! never. I can never like him in that way, aunty nein mujhe yahan rehne that's the big thing, I can never take advantage of this, Manik bhi toh mujse kitna bade hain. He's just my friend, yes that's it.

She went downstairs and saw nyonika sipping her tea. 'Nandini, where is Manik. woh niche nahi aiyen' 'woh aunty he is sleeping' Nandini said. 'haan mera beta, must be tired he works all day' Nandini sat beside her. they chitchatted a little. 'Nandini I am planning to buy a Phone' Nyonika said. 'no aunty, mujhe nehi chahiyen' Nandini said. 'No Nandini you need it, it'll also help in your studies, I will go and buy it tomorrow'. Nandini didn't deny and took nyonika's permission and went to her room.

She opened her books and went to the balcony to study. Nyonika especially made it for her.

She was studying Meanwhile Manik woke up in his room. He smiled to himself at the thougt that Nandini made him sleep. He went to her room and didn't see her and thought 'might be studying' and went to her balcony.
She was studying with full concentration, Manik came and sat infront of her, just like the picture. 'toh madam, what you are studying?, let me help you' Nandini then showed him her problems and he helped her. It has been 11' o clock already and Nyonika called them for dinner. They had their dinner and went to their respective rooms. It was 12' O clock and Manik came out of his room, and went down to check if everyone is asleep or not. He saw his parents are sleeping and all the lights are off. Taking the chance he went upstairs to Nandini's room.

'Nandini! Nandini! wake up!' Manik called her patting her cheeks.
'no!' Nandini denied and turned her face to the other side.
'please Nandini wake up na! let's watch a movie'  After a little nagging Nandini woke up. 'seriously Manik tumhe aab movie dekhni hain'
'yes, tomorrow is sunday, so tonight is the perfect timing to watch movie' Manik said seepishly. 'come fast!' Nandini nodded and stood up and they both went to his room.

Manik created a perfect atmosphere for the movie. 'so konsa movie dekho ge?' Manik asked. 'tumhi toh mujhe laiye hon, tum batao But my fav genre is horror' 'ohk' Manik searched and chose the horrorest movie. Nandini was yawning sitting on the bed waiting for him. Finally Manik turned on the movie in the plasma tv and went to the bed. They both sat and Manik spread the blanket over their legs. He kept popcorns and coke on infront of them. A horror scene came and Nandini shouted 'aaaa' Manik immediately clasped her mouth and said 'ssshhh, Mom Dad uth jayenge, don't shout' Nandini looked at him in horror and clutched his arm tightly. Manik smiled and held her by her arms tightly, pulling her closer to him.

A kissing scene came and Nandini moved away from him looking here and there, her cheeks turned red. Manik also looked the other side feeling a little shy. Manik coughed gaining Nandini's attention, who looked at him being flushed. Manik pointed towards the screen with his eyes, the kissing scene was over. By the end of the movie Nandini was asleep and Manik picked her up and went to her room. It's the first time Manik picked her in his arms. He lied her down on her bed and slightly kissed her cheeks. He went to his room after closing her room's door and dozed off.
