As you read this tale, or as I like to think, you are about to take a journey, I want to say I truly hope you enjoy it. Giving people access to their imagination, taking them on an adventure, is why I write. After all, writers who do the best are those that love writing. I do.
This story is being edited as I write this author's note. One item of extreme importance for me is to clean up my prose, strengthen it, and make it cleaner and crisper. I have discovered that I overuse -ing verbs, and that is one item I will address in the edit process. I don't believe adverbs are overused in the story, but I'll try to make sure of it. I have said in other places that I will not update the Wattpad version, but odds are good I will.
Please consider, leaving comments, and let me know your thoughts. If you find any problems, regardless of what they are, I would like to know. Also, please vote on each and every chapter. Those votes help the story gain exposure in the Wattpad community, and yes, I do want that. In addition, all of us writers have egos that need to be coddled a little...okay, maybe a lot. :)
On that note, I will not have comments at the beginning or end of each chapter to ask for your votes and comments, as many other Wattpad writers do. I decided that while you're reading, I want it to be about the reading, without the constant sales pitch. However, please consider voting for each chapter.

** UPDATE (May 8, 2020): After wrestling with the edit I was working on, I have realized it wasn't working. As a result, I decided to take a different approach. Instead of editing the existing work, I will instead rewrite it. There are of course pieces and sections I will keep, but large portions will be written from fresh cloth. This approach will take the notes from my editor, and also comments from beta readers into account, but allow me freedom to make changes for realism and new information and research. On a different note, but one that impacts the method of writing, I think I have decided against pursuing the traditional publishing path, opting instead for self publishing. This is subject to change, of course, but this is my current position. When I am finished with this rewrite/edit, I will remove the current version, in favor of the new version.
