"The scar had not pained Harry for 19 years. All was well." The words brought me to tears in my reading class. I read the last words from the Harry Potter series and my eyes were watery. I spent the last 6 months reading all the Harry Potter books and I was devastated it was over now because in my little school in South Carolina, we have nothing to do. It was a very secluded place to live. No one ever visited here and mainly old people lived here to settle down before they pass.

All the teenagers in my senior class knew each other from birth to now. There was no other school in this town of McClellanville, so that meant you had to be nice to everyone from day 1 because you would see them everyday until you graduate high school. I mean obviously there is people I don't like, but I'm still nice to them because I don't want them to hate me, especially how graduation is this year. I'd rather end high school on a good note.

"Blondie! Snap out of it!" Mr. Baker, my reading teacher, snapped his fingers in my face. I immediately left my trance and noticed everyone in my class left the room.

"I'm sorry Mr. Baker, I was just thinking about this book and how much I could relate to it." I lied and held up my Harry Potter book.

He made an awkward face and smiled, "Are you a wizard or have a strange and unexplainable scar on your face, Autumn?" He joked. I laughed nervously.

"No, but-" the bell cut me off. "Forget about it. See you tomorrow, Mr. Baker!" I said running out of the door and to my next class. Mr. Baker was probably the only reason I made it through this hell hole for as long as I did.

He was my dad's best friend when my parents were alive. Mr. Baker knew me since I was born and watched over me at school. Ever since I started going to school, Larry Baker was always my teacher. Every year he moved up a grade with me. After I graduated from eighth grade, I though he was done being my teacher, but here we are, he was my reading teacher all 4 years of high school.

I go to my last period of the day and don't listen to a word my teacher said because I was too focused on the clock and every tik and tok it made and how every second we live through, we are closer and closer to our death than we were before... and also how every second we were closer to leaving school for the day.

Eventually, the bell rang and I grabbed my things and ran out of the doors of the school as fast as I could. I rush through the crowded hallways of teenagers. I knew who was running behind me because we do this everyday. I always won. I could hear my little sister, Sommer's muffled breaths behind me. She was never as fast as me, but at least she tried.

"Okay, Autumn, I GET IT! YOURE FASTER THAN ME!" Sommer yelled across the parking lot. I stop and turn to wait for her.

"God, you're slow!" As she approached me, I laughed at her heavy breathing.

Sommer had her hands on her knees and leaned her head down. She death glares me and stopped her breathing, "Shut up, bitch." She said with no emotion. I bursted into my pig laugh while she laughed at me with her cute giggle. Sommer has always been more stunning than me. Does she ever have her ugly moments? No! Does she ever have an ugly laugh? No! Am I ever jealous of her? Duh! She's gorgeous, but I don't ever put myself down from her. I mean she's obviously the prettier sister, but when people compare us, I'm not offended because that's just always how it's been.

We walked back to the house, which wasn't too far from the school. Sommer walked inside to probably greet Calum, our older brother, while I opened the rusty mailbox and grabbed our mail. There was only three pieces of mail. I walk up the driveway of our small house and look at the three envelopes. "To Calum Hood. To Calum Hood. To Autumn Hood." Sweet, I got some mail! Not!

I walk inside and greet Calum with a hug and hand him his mail. "Thank youuu, Autumn." Calum said like a puppy with a smile. I laugh and walk to my room with my mail. I drop my backpack from my shoulder and onto the hardwood floor and read the front of the white envelope. From London, England. Weird. It may be from a college there that wants me or something.

I slice open the envelope with my fingertip and open it to reveal a folded up piece of paper. I unfolded the mail and read the words carefully.

Dear Autumn Jade Hood,
You have 24 hours  to come to London, England. If you don't come within the given time. We will come get you! You are also to never tell anyone about this note and how, where, and why you are leaving. You have been warned!

Okay so I know the first chapter was pretty short, but just wait till the second one, it'll be longer and way more interesting. Btw the first few chapters probably won't be very intriguing, but I promise you that the third chapter is like the start to it all, but you definitely don't want to miss the first two chapters cause the books is full of interesting events and plot twists. I promise you that this is a book you won't regret reading. And I'll try my best not to do a lot of author's notes because they can be really annoying, so thank you for your time. Bye!
