A long two weeks has gone by and Demi has been alone or barring herself in Unnecessary work. She's been ignoring her feelings & conflicts in her life every night with a glass of bourbon. Helplessly
"Are you sure you want to take this case Miss.Lovato? You been working none stop" her boss asked concerned
"Yes" Demi smiled
Her boss sighed "alright Here" she passed her the papers
"Oh and I'm sorry about your fiancé" she said sorrowful to Demi as she was walking out
"It's fine, thanks" Demi faked a smile before leaving back to her office.
Demi went into her office and sorted through her new case. She knew this one would be little and easy to deal with. She looked through all the evidence, suspects, and witness reports.
"Miss. Lovato someone here wants to you?" Her assistant informed her
"Who?" Demi raised an eyebrow cluelessly
"He said he doesn't wanna say his name because he's sure you won't let him in" she quickly responded "he's cute" she winked
Demi rolled her eyes as Wilmer traced her mind
"Hey Dems" Joe smiled warmly, nervously and Demi's eyes widen. Rage and frustration filling her body
"What the hell are you doing here?" She blurted
"I know you're probably mad at me, beyond belief, and you'd probably love to see me killed but I couldn't go another day without seeing you"
Demi rolled he eyes "Joe, I don't hav..."
"Just let me explain" he quickly interrupted
Demi crossed her arms "proceed"
"You see the reason I said we couldn't associate was because you were getting married"
Demi raised an eyebrow in confusion
"Because I was falling in love with you"
