I walked up the driveway of my grandparents house with Luke at my side. Nala had dropped us off. I quickly called my grandmother and asked her if it was okay that I came so late, and brought Luke. She said it was fine.

“Reagan dear so nice to see you!” Grandma greeted me at the door. “This must be the Luke I have heard so much about.” She said greeting Luke with a big and and a kiss on the cheek.

“Nice to meet you Mrs. Ratoni.” he said being polite which was weird because I don’t think he ever acted like this way in front of my family except at the New Years Eve party.

“Please Luke, call me Grandma R. All the children on the block do.”

“It’s true Luke. Everyone does.” I said walking in. I heard the TV in the living room on because my Grandpa must be watching some old war program.

“Hey Pops.” I said greeting him and kissing him on the cheek.

“How is my Granddaughter?” He said as I sat down next to him and Luke sat next to me. He lowered the TV and my grandma brought us some freshly baked cookies. Baking was her thing every week she would make me something new.

“I’m great Pops. This is Luke, my boyfriend. He is the one I was telling you about.” I introduced him.

“It’s nice to meet you sir.” He shook my grandfathers hand.

“This one has a firm handshake. I like him.” He said and Luke immediately smiled. I knew he wanted to impress him. He took one of my grandma’s cookies and smiled again. “These are great, Grandma R.” He took another one.

“Special Recipe.” She smiled sitting across from my Pops.

“Is this the boy from the videos you showed me Reagan?” He asked.

“Yeah, the one with the throwing up and then the train one.” I smiled and so did Luke.

“You showed them the videos?” Luke asked.

“Of course she did!” Grandma said. “They were hilarious. I could never imagine anyone doing them here though. The would get beat by the police or hit from some stupid thug on the street.” Luke laughed at this.

“How is school Reagan?” Grandpa asked me. Always the same questioned. He was always interested in my studies, i think because he used to work at UCLA.

“It’s great really great Pops. I’m learning a lot and getting top experience.” I answered him.

“Reagan can you help me in the kitchen for a bit?” My grandma asked.

“Sure. I’ll be back in a little while.” I told Luke he nodded as my grandpa made the TV a little bit louder.

Luke’s Point of View:

I was a little nervous being in Reagan’s grandparent house. I think just because of who they were, and how they were related to Reagan. They were her fathers parents and I never met her father.

“Luke right?” her grandfather asked.

“yes sir.”

“You don’t have to be nervous son, i’m not going to hurt you. It’s not my job, i’m not the girls father.” He laughed and I couldn’t help but smile. He was a nice guy.

“I know what it’s like sir, to grow up without a dad.” I told him, but I don’t know why. He just seemed like the older man that I could talk to.

“You too huh. Happens to the best of us.”

“I think it’s why me and Reagan get along really well. We understand each other.”
