~Dakota North~I smiled widely. Hopefully this plan would work. I watched my brother try and stick a bobby pin through the chains that bound him to the metal pole.
But before Alex could anything, a voice rang in the room. "And where do you two think you're going?" It asked. I looked over to where the voice was coming from. In front of the door was a tall woman with dark brown hair. She smirked and walked toward me and Alex.
"Let us go!" I yelled. The girl just kept walking towards us with a smile on her face.
"And why would I do that?" She asked. I struggled to escape even more. She inspected us two carefully, her freckles surrounding her eyes like stars surrounding the moon. I was silent. "I think I'm gonna have to report you to my boss. You were trying to escape. And... we don't allow any bad behavior here in the Egami Government. You see, we're going to train you to become soldiers for us... and imagine what we would be with soldiers who misbehaved?" She continued. I growled at her.
"I will never become someone who works for you! Not over my dead body!" I replied. Alex looked over to me and nodded.
"We'll be sure to change that..." The woman said. Fear suddenly approached my face. She walked away from me to inspect Alex.
"Don't touch him!" I screamed. She smirked, then frowned and walked away. She grabbed a dish that she had recently put down on the table a served an equal amount of food on the two plates. The she quickly unlocked us both. Before I could fight, she said,
"Now be careful, if you don't do anything bad you won't have to go back on those poles. So don't do anything you aren't supposed to." I glanced at Alex who was already looking at me. It was like we were having a conversation in our heads. I could imagine it went like this:
Alex: 'Let's stay out of trouble. We can escape when it's nighttime.'
Me: 'Perfect plan. But don't they lock the doors? And even if they didn't, wouldn't there be guards outside the door?'
Alex: 'There won't be if we knock em out.'
Me: 'But how would we do that? They're like, ten times larger than us!'"Excuse me!" I slipped out of my gaze. The woman was talking to me. Although she didn't look like a woman. She looked like she was almost the same age as me. Maybe older. Her brown hair was up in a bun but somehow it was still crazy.
"What." I spat.
"Sit down and eat." She ordered.
"Thanks but... I'm not hungry." I looked over to Alex who was already almost halfway done with his food.
"That's really your loss. Are you sure your not hungry? The food will get cold." I shook my head. I could hear my stomach growling but I covered it up by yelling:
"NOPE! TOTALLY FINE HERE!" She laughed. I was so hungry, but I didn't want to eat any of the food that I was served here. Who knows what they did to it?
"Well then... I guess I'll just take that back then...." She replied.
"Yeah, you do that." She took the plate from off the table, but before putting it in the slot that lead to the dirty dishes, she grabbed the apple on it and placed it on the table.
"That's for if you ever change your mind." She winked. I furrowed by brows in confusion then looked away. Then, she threw the plate down into the dirty dishes slot. The girl then whispered, "By the way, my name is Mia, and I am going to get you both out of here. Tomorrow night." And with that, she walked out of the room and slammed the door behind her.
