~Lilly~
"Alright everybody! I've got a plan!" I yelled. I took my hair that was messy and and curly today and put it in a high ponytail. Dakota sat up from his bed. Clearly, he hadn't slept all night. I couldn't blame him though, I didn't either.
"But you said it would take us a week just to know that we are safe." He groaned. I smiled.
"I know, but I created a plan overnight. While you were all being lazy bums and sleeping." Dakota stood up and walked over the table.
"I didn't sleep. But you need sleep to live." He replied, sitting down on a haystack. I could tell that the hay was hard and scratchy, saying that he winced in pain. I scoffed.
"Sleep is for losers! You can sleep when you're dead!" I argued. Aurora sat up from her bed and raised her hands sleepily.
"Yeah! Sleep is for the weak!" Dakota and I looked at each other and laughed. From the way she spoke, it almost sounded like she was drunk. Next and last to sit up was Aiden. He rubbed his eyes.
"You know, you just called yourself weak." He yawned and stood up, joining us at the table. "So what's your so called 'plan'?" He asked, trying to peek at the paper.
"Aurora get over here!" Dakota yelled. She rolled her eyes and stumbled over to the table as well.
"Get your face over here." She tried. She sat down next to me.
"My face is already at the table."
"Well so is mine!"
"Dakota! Aurora! Stop!" Aiden cut in. The two glanced at each other, then looked away. I smiled and pulled the piece of paper from under my arms. Everyone stared at it for a second.
"What is it?" Aurora asked. I glanced at her, annoyed.
"Here, let me just explain my plan." I took the piece of paper and set it on the ground. "So as you all know, there are some train tracks that cross the forest about a mile away." Everyone nodded. "After doing some research—and by research I mean watching the track for about an hour waiting for the train to come in the middle of the night—I found out that there is a train station close by that it stops at every time. If we could get on this train, it will take us to the Egami Government. It drops something off there every other day. It's our ticket to finding our parents." I continued to speak. "If this all goes according to plan, then we will get to our parents, Dakota North, and Alex in about two days."
"And what if something goes wrong with the train? Or, what if the Egami Government is watching the train track the whole time, and they kill us on the spot?" Aiden asked. I shrugged.
"If they try to kill us, I'll take the bullets. It's my plan after all. But I highly doubt that they will be there. And if something goes wrong with the train or we miss it, we can always catch another one in two days." I replied. I was waiting for someone to say something nice like, 'Oh, Lilly, we wouldn't let you take the bullet. I should, I've lived longer than you.' or 'Lilly, this is a great plan! thank you for staying up all night to make it!' but nope. Just Aurora who said;
"So what do we do when we get there?" She picked up an apple from the center of the table and took a large bite of it.
"I don't know..." I admitted. "I was gonna let us all figure that out on the train ride there."
"That's not safe." Dakota noted.
"I know." I replied. "But if we want to get to them on time, we can't waste anymore time trying to figure something out. We are never going to be safe if the Egami Government is still after our family." I heard mumbles of agreement.
"I'm in." Aiden said. He looked over to the other two, one of his eyebrows was furrowed. It almost looked like he was trying to interrogate someone.
"Same here." Aurora agreed, her mouth was full of mushed up apple. All at once, she gulped it down and looked over to Dakota, whom everyone was looking at now.
"I... I don't know." He said. I looked at him carefully. His brown eyes met mine. They looked like tears could spring out of them at any minute.
"You don't know?" Aurora asked. She sat up, slamming her hands on the table. "Your twin brother could be dead by now and you don't know?!"
"Alright fine! Fine. I guess I'm in." He said. Dakota slowly scooted away from his sister in fear. Aurora smiled and threw her apple into the garbage. Well, she tried, but she missed. She rolled her eyes and walked over to where her apple landed, throwing it away the 'boring way'. "When does the train leave anyway?" Dakota asked.
"About ten." I replied.
"A.M. or P.M.?" He suddenly looked panicked.
"A.M. why?"
"Lilly, that train leaves in fifteen minutes."
