There's only a few more chapters left! Maybe two or three, excluding this one. Then I'll write something...I dunno. We'll see. I need some inspiration.

But yeah, this chapter is cheesy. Forgive me! The first book was soo sad, I couldn't make the second one the same way. D: So I had to make this full of happiness and cheesiness!

Dedicated to xTahliaxSandorx because she is awesome!

Picture on the side is Cade's wedding dress! Isn't it lovely? I think it's gorgeous. :)

Chapter Seventeen

~

I skipped out of the car carefully and walked with Tristan into the graveyard, my hair braided into a French fishtail to keep out of my face. The breeze made the stray locks sway and I grasped Tristan's hand as we approached Xavier's grave and the large oak tree that shaded it.

I smoothed my hand over the front of my light blue top that brought out my eyes and knelt down with a little difficulty to touch the words imprinted on the stone, running my finger over his name. Xavier Landon Wolfe. I sighed softly as the feeling of loss and sadness struck me. I laid the blood, red roses I was holding on his grave and let the sweet aroma waft through my nose.

"Hey, Xavier." My voice was soft as I spoke. My heart gave a sharp tug as I said his name. I seemed to be saying it less and less out loud nowadays when I had so much more things to think about. "I'm sorry I haven't visited you. There has been so much going on. Things have honestly been hectic lately." I laughed a little and relaxed as Tristan's hand ran down my braid lovingly.

"I hope you're happy for me from up there. Watch over us," I said, getting up with the help of Tristan. He kissed me on the head and I began to walk away, but paused when I realized he hadn't followed me. "Tristan?"

Tristan tugged me close and wrapped his arms around me, pressing his forehead against mine. "Can you wait in the car? I just want to say some things," he said, gazing into my eyes with his deep blue ones.

"Say what?" I asked curiously, my palms resting over his chest. He was wearing a button down shirt that was red in color and had long sleeves that were rolled to his elbows. The red looked great against his tan skin and black hair and his shirt was soft under my fingers.

"Just some things, you know." He looked a little sheepish. Leaning closer, he pressed his lips to mine and I closed my eyes and revelled in the gentle feel of his kiss. "Please just wait by the car and I'll be there soon."

I looked at him suspiciously, but nodded, beginning to walk away. But I didn't go to the car; instead, I stopped far enough that he couldn't see me, but I could still hear him. I wanted to know what he was saying to my deceased mate.

Tristan coughed once and I could just imagine him shifting his weight from one foot to the other. "Umm...Hey, Xavier," he started. I moved so I was beside a tree and leaned against it because standing was making my feet hurt. "You probably don't even like me much. I mean, your soulmate is in love with me and I'm in love with her." I couldn't help, but chuckle. "But I just know that you're happy because she's happy. And soulmates want happiness for each other, right?

"Well, to be honest, I don't know how you could ever deny a woman like Cade. She's brilliant. I mean, she can cook, she can clean, she can fight, she's beautiful and her personality is amazing. I'm sorry, but you...you're an idiot. And I shouldn't be speaking ill of the dead, but I'm not speaking ill" he said quickly, laughing uncomfortably. "I promise I'm not. But letting go of her was your biggest mistake. Not that you don't know that already," he added.
