Chapter 21

LANCE'S POV

Keith woke up with a scream. He was shaking and breathing heavily.

"Hey hey hey it's okay." I said pulling him to me.

"W-were am I?"

His lavender eyes looked around the room.

"Your in your room, in the castle of lions. Don't worry your safe." I said holding his face in my hands.

He slowly calmed down and just sat there.

"Hey come on, why don't you get a shower and we'll get some food." I said getting off his bed.

I looked back and he still just sat there. A terrified look in his eye. I had to grab his hand and walk him over to the bathroom. I switched on the light and started the shower.

"Okay so, do you need some help or.."

He just starred at me and back at the shower like he had no clue what this thing was.

"No" he replied quietly.

He started to hesitantly take his shirt off.

"Here you want some help?" I said walking over.

"No! Don't- don't p-please not again!" He yelled backing away from me with tears in his eyes.

"Hey shhhh it's okay, hey your not there anymore, your with me Lance, do you remember me?" I said crouching towards him.

He starred at me threw his watery eyes. I slowly walked up to him and hugged him. I held his face in my hands and looked deep into his violet eyes.

"Keith as long as your with me you will never get hurt again okay? No one here will hurt you, I will never hurt you."

"I'm going to be right outside, okay? You need anything just yell my name." He starred at me and then nodded a little. I got him up and helped him with his shirt.

As I took it off it revealed all of the scars he had on his back, chest, neck and stomach. They were everywhere. As I inspected his body, my eyes landed on his right shoulder. It was a giant red circle with a strange symbol in the middle. This wasn't an ordinary scar, this was a brand.

I tried to hold back my tears as I smiled at him and closed the door behind me.

A couple of minutes later he walked out with a clean pair of clothes on. I smiled and walked over to him.

"You wanna grab some food and see the others?"

He hesitantly nodded. I put my arm around him and we walked out of the door. I still didn't tell anyone that he was awake because he was my first priority.

We made our way down the hall and he just looked around taking everything in. As we walked into the lounge all heads turned.

"Keith!!" Pidge yelled as she ran up and hugged him. Surprisingly he wrapped his arms around her and smirked a little.

"We really missed you!" She said looking up at him. By now Hunk, Shiro, Coran and Allura joined the hug. I was getting ready to jump into action if Keith had another panic attack but he seemed so happy hugging his family.

Gosh I missed that smile.
