Avrielle's pov

as soon as I say down I whipped out my phone, opening my conversation with jasmine.

"I RAN INTO A CUTE BOY WHAT DO I DO" I sent her at lightning speeds.

a text zipped back almost instantly.

"I DONT KN OW DONT BE WEIRD."

thanks jasmine. I'll try.

"where r u?" I sent. she was supposed to be in biology with me but was no where to be found.

"sick. can't make it." on the first day of school? likely story. I sighed and looked around at the classroom, which was mostly the backs of heads since my seat was in the far corner. Alex sat right in front of me, yelling across the class room to his friends.

my gaze stopped. sitting two rows away from me was the girl from earlier, writing in a notebook. suddenly my stomach turned into knots.

"what?" I wondered. "why am I so nervous? it's not like she'd ever talk to me."

she was undoubtably pretty, with beach waved hair, bright blue eyes and perfect bow lips. but I didn't even like girls. so. what was I even doing?

eventually the teacher walked in, an older guy wearing a Hawaiian shirt and slacks. he handed out biology coloring pages and crayons, much to the rejoice of the students. the first day was always the best.

I started coloring my fish in wild swirly patterns, in blue and purple, trying to make it seem like I came from nightvale.

I glanced over at what the other girl was doing and nearly fell out of my chair. her fish was covered in tiny near geometrical patterns in all colors, and it looked incredible. I looked back down at my own paper and sighed. whatever.
