As I looked at myself in the mirror, I just saw hate. Looking at my wrists just made me sick, sick of feeling weak. I felt like I was sinking in a hole. These so called friendship bracelets were used to cover up my scars.

I heard Mother wake up. I hurried, grabbed my things and left. The chill wind blowing on my face made me feel free. I was on my way to school, walking. I saw others around me but I just felt like I'm alone in this world with everybody against me.

Finally, I was here. Can this just end please? I thought to myself. Walking down the hallways everybody ignored me like I was a ghost. I was used to it, I was a nobody to everybody. I saw the popular girls walk past me and started laughing. "Freak", one of them said. Bell rang, with my head down I went to class. Eight hours passed and I was finally out of school.

I hurried, walking straight home. I felt fear coming in me. As soon as I got home I went to my room and locked my door. At least I was alone now, away from everybody. Laying on my bed I felt my eyes drop and I felt my body relaxed, I then feel asleep.

I heard a loud bang on the front door, I checked the clock and it read 12:37am. I was confused I thought Mother was already sleeping. I went downstairs, as the banging grew louder, and opened the door. It was Mother and she had been drinking. "Jocelyn get out of my way, you're just a disturbance in my life." Mother yelled. I accidentally closed the door too soon and hit her back with the door. She the slapped me on my face and pushing me till I dropped on the floor. "I'm sorry!" I screamed."You're my biggest mistake, you ruined my life!" She said. Why was this happening again. My eyes full of water and my face full of pain, I sobbed. "You're just worthless!" She screamed once again. I covered my face trying to prevent from getting hit again. I cried, I was hoping someone was realizing what the screams are, hoping my neighbors or someone called for help. All of a sudden multiple blows hit my face, once again laying on the floor with pain. As I was feeling lightheaded I thought to myself, why me? Why does she do this to me? Why doesn't anybody help me? Why do they let it happen?

I then saw a lady rush in and she covered her mouth with her palm when she saw me bloody. "Get out of my house! This doesn't involve you!" I could hear mother scream. I heard multiple voices but they were fading. I felt someone carry my weak, wounded body. As my vision was fading I was seeing a bright light, finally free at last. At least I thought.
