Three months later. . .

I sat up in bed, unable to sleep. It was almost impossible to sleep at night any more. I always had to pee, I was never comfortable. I was also starting to think about the baby more often. What we needed, what we were going to do. The Doctor has been very good though about helping me. Even when I had my bad days when everything got to much for me to think about.

The baby would be coming soon and my mind was racing thinking about everything.

The Doctor sat up and gently wrapped his arm around me and gently pulled me back down to bed. “Come on Violet, sleep,” he said, his voice still half asleep. “I can’t,” I said, fighting his grasp to sit back up, but I couldn’t. I gave up, laying next to him.

“Doctor?” I asked. “Yes?” he asked, looking up at me with his eyes half closed. “We don’t have a crib,” I said, thinking about it. “Yes we do,” he said, putting his head back down on the pillow. “We do?” I asked. He nodded, closing his eyes.

I smiled at him, watching him sleep. How he put up with me, I’d never know.

In an hour, he stretched. His eyes slowly opened. Now I knew he was awake again. “Doctor?” I asked. “Yes?” he asked back. I still couldn’t get how he wasn’t annoyed of me yet. “I’m nervous,” I said, staring into his eyes. He looked in my eyes before kissing my forehead. “Violet, everything will be fine. I promise you,” he said.

“How can you be sure?” I asked, laying my head on his shoulder. “Trust me, I’m the Doctor,” he said, a smile showing in his voice. I smiled, before kissing his shoulder.

“Have you thought about names?” I asked, closing my eyes. “No, I haven’t. I actually thought we’d let the baby pick out their own name,” he said. I looked up at him to see him smiling. “No. Because they’ll be like Stormageddon and he or she will regret when they get older,” I said, smiling.

The Doctor laughed. “Stormageddon is an awesome name!” he said, cheerfully. I smiled at him. “Let’s do something today to get your mind off being nervous,” he said, taking me into his arms. “Can we visit my parents?” I asked, looking up into his beautiful green eyes. “Of course we can,” he said, kissing me forehead.

We quickly got up and dressed before the Doctor punched in the coordinates and we were off.

The Doctor led us up to the front door and knocked. I smiled as mum and dad came out hugging us. “You’re huge!” mum said, cheerfully. “I know, she swallowed a planet!” the Doctor said, stepping inside.

“What brings you two here?” mum said, sitting on the couch. The Doctor and I joined her. “Violet’s nervous about the baby, so we decide to pop in for a visit,” he said, smiling. Mum looked at me and smiled, “It’s alright to be nervous,” she said. “Yeah Violet, you’ll make a great mother,” dad said, sitting in a chair across from us.

“No one mention that I’ll be a great father or anything,” the Doctor said, laughing a little. “You’ll make a great dad,” I said, kissing him. He smiled into the kiss. “Thank you Violet,” he said.

“Have you guys decided wither or not you’re going to birth at a hospital?” mum asked. My cheeks turned red thinking about it. “No, we are not,” the Doctor said. I looked to him, we had never even talked about it. “You know what happened the last time we went to a hospital,” he said.

His eyes then fell to me and I saw the sadness in his eyes. I knew he didn’t want any danger, so I let him make this decision.

I started thinking about what we were going to do. I had no plan, no idea. I took a deep breath trying to calm myself. The Doctor noticed it. “Calm down Violet,” he said, gently. I nodded, pressing my face into his neck.

Just then a sharp pain hit me. I cried out, holding my stomach. “What’s happening?” the Doctor asked, cradling me in his arms. I looked up to him, “The baby’s coming.”
