The following weeks at school I did my best on working with my new friendship with Casey. While I still couldn't stand most people at school, she was pretty awesome, and she had some pretty cool friends. We would go out to the movies together, to restaurants. Casey even taught me how to play pool one night when we were hanging out in her basement.

One night she picked me up early and we sat on one of the couches in the basement as we waited for everyone else to arrive, "so can I ask you something," she asked turning to me.

            "Yeah, sure."

"You and Marcel...how did that happen? I mean, before you moved here he never talked to anyone. Everything's changed."

I laughed, "was it really so bad? I mean, he's never told me much. I can tell some of the other people at school were pretty awful to him, but he's never said anything."

"They've been horrible to him. Even when people were nice to him he pulled away from them, I don't think he trusted anyone."

"Well, the school just kinda shoved us together, to show me around and junk," I shrugged, "we were friends, then suddenly it was more."

"And...the clothes, the hair...how did you do that," she asked, and I guess I wasn't surprised. He had changed a lot since I came here.

"He had all of that before. He just wasn't confident enough to go anywhere looking different. I didn't even know his hair got that curly, but I went to his house one day and he had just gotten out of the shower and there it was-"

"Wait," she interrupted me, "out of the shower," she asked with a sly grin.

"Yes," I said laughing, "all wet and clean."

            "Have you guys..."

"Have we..? Oh," I said with realization, "no we haven't, just ya know kissing and stuff." She clearly wanted to ask more, but was cut off when Marcel and several others came down the stairs to join us.

We tried to watch a few movies until Casey's brother and a few of his guy friends stole the TV to play video games. After a few games of pool I hugged Casey and told her I'd see her at school before being led upstairs by Marcel. I was about to open the door when he stopped me and turned me around and placed his hands on the car on either side of me. "Do I really have to take you home now," he asked in a quiet voice, "I haven't had any alone time with you lately."

I smiled and put my arms around his waist, "aww are you feeling left out now that I finally made a few friends?"

"While I'm very proud, yes I am," he said while nodding his head.
