"So he only does business lunches three times a week?" I ask Jessica again.
She nods as she looks through a rack of dresses, "Yeah, and he's actually pretty laid back most days, well when everything is going right."

I sigh and pull out a long blue dress that has beading along the neckline.

Jessica shakes her head, "You could get a way with something a lot sexier than that Emerson."
I sigh and stick it on the rack, "Did you find anything?" I ask.
She nods, "Yeah, I'll go try it on."

Thirty minutes and six dresses later she squeals, "This is it!"
She comes out of the dressing room in a beautiful white rose colored one shoulder chiffon dress, it clung to her perfectly, "Oh Jessica that's perfect."
She grins and does a twirl, "Okay I'll check out and we can go somewhere else for you."

Another half hour later we're walking down the street window shopping when a dress catches my eye.

I stop and Jessica turns around, "Em what is it?"
"That dress."
She looks up at the window and gasps, "Emerson that's beautiful, but it's a vintage store, what are the chances it'll fit you?"
I shrug, "I don't know, but I have to try."

I walk in the door and a young girl greets us, "Spot something you like?" she asks.
I nod, "The dress in the window."
Her eyes widen, "That's going to be perfect on you, but I'm going to warn you...it's really expensive. Even for this vintage shop."
I bite my lip and glance back at it, "It doesn't matter. I'd like to try it on."

Twenty minutes later I have the white lace dress gown on, the lace detail was in perfect shape, and it fit me like a glove.

"How much?" I ask.
The girl bites her lip and smiles, "Let me get my mom to see it on you. Then we'll talk."

I ended up spending more money than I should have, but it was worth it. The dress was a dream come true. When I part with Jessica I head to my apartment. When I enter the lobby I spot Christian talking to the doorman, he looks up and I realize for once his expression is unreadable, just as it had always been before last Friday.

When I enter the apartment Avery is sliding on a pair of shoes, "Hey is that your dress?"
I nod, "Yeah, it's gorgeous."
I hand it on the closet door and unzip it to show it to her, she gasps, "Oh wow! It's amazing."

I grin, "I figured you could help me pick out a pair of shoes."
"I'd be glad to help," she smiles.

After hanging the dress up on the back of my bedroom door we head out, locking the door behind us and setting the security system. When we step off the elevator Christian is waiting for it, "Miss. Sinclair, didn't you just get home?"
I sigh, "Yes, and now I'm leaving."

He eyes me, "I pressume you found your dress for this Friday?"
I nod, "I did."
He frowns, "Then what else could you possibly need?"
Avery shakes her head, "You're a man, all you need is a suit. We need, shoes that match, a clutch, jewelry."
He bites his lip, "How could I forget," he says quietly looking me over.

Why does he always do that?

Avery tugs on my arm, "Come on, we need to go so we can meet Channing."
I sigh and let her lead me away as Christian says, "Goodnight Miss. Sinclair."

I don't get to answer him.

***Christian***

"Mr. Clark your meeting starts in five minutes, these are the copies you asked for."
I look up at Jessica, "Thank you Jessica, you can take an early lunch, I'll have Emerson take my notes."
She nods with a small smile, "Thank you sir."
