The Creation of the Hex

There were a few people in the beginning of the new world that did not agree with the Three Virtues. They believed people could not prosper correctly without conflict. The Glass People forced them out of their city, but sometimes they would slip in through the cracks and hide in the shadows. They were named the Hex.

The Hex would steal whatever they could get their hands on; it was the only way they could survive. Without a proper city or system, they had to scrounge from Glascia just to make it to the next day. Their population was much smaller than that of the Glass City, and that was due to the plague that sometimes returned to the area surrounding the twenty-four foot tall walls of Glascia. Children weren't as prone to the disease as adults, and perhaps that's the only reason the Hex survived. After awhile, some sort of system was created using The Three Vices' Conduct:

"Those who crave knowledge and want it more than happiness, those who treat the kind with cruelty, those who use apathy as a weapon; those people can rule the world. It happened before the Virtues took over, before morals kicked in. We just need to remove the morals again, (because they definitely don't pay rent)."

The last part was a choice to say. Many Hex didn't have a sense of humor, so it was left out often. Some Hex didn't even know that line even exists.

.

The Hex lived a rugged life of trying to regain power. They wanted to re-inspire creative imagination over simple creation. Every Glascian saw the Hex as a bad group of people trying to stain their pristine white outfits. Every Hex saw the Glass People as androids, no longer human. They each thought the other was the bad guy, but who really was wrong? Who was the right one? Or were they both bad guys? No one was ever really sure, but they all faught hard for their side.

.

There was no set clothing standards for the Hex. Rags and towels were used for the children or elders. They weren't the ones going on raids, so the didn't need the tight-fitting, right sized clothing. The raiding Hex took what they could, and most likely dyed it to turn it black. They wore all midnight attire, to mimic the opposite of all the Glascians meant. They wanted to blend into the shadows. They wanted to know that the color black and the simple mention of the name Hex strikes fear into a Glascian's heart. That's why the Denire and his wife wear a black rose; to symbolize that they should be feared.

.

And if there is anything a Hex should remember, it was to never bow down to anyone but yourself.
