Aurora

Chapter 5

 Aurora turned to Sahara and said, "Find something to write that down on. I'll get him some help." The Sandwing nodded, and took off running. Aurora studied the small Nightwing, and came up with a plan. She laid him flat on the floor, then stuck her snout under him to put him on her shoulders. She was strong, but the full weight of a dragonet over three years old? That was a lot. With Comet on her back, she spread her wings and staggered to find help. After what seemed like an eternity, she saw Sunny walk out of a cave and rushed over once she saw her. "What happened?" She asked, eyeing the dragonet on her back. "He had a vision, I think, and he fainted," she panted. She carefully laid down, not to off balance Comet. "Help?" "Hold on, I'll be right back," Sunny said, running back through the cave. "To what? The dragonet on my back? The floor? Kinda hard to do right now!" She called after Sunny. As the hybrid rested her head down, she heard Sunny yell,"Clay!? We have a situation!" The thumping of several sets of claws were heard, quite easily in Aurora's opinion, and soon Sunny and Clay appeared. "Help," She gasped to the older dragons. Clay, being as big and burly as he was, easily picked Cometflinger up and putting him like a scarf around his neck. Aurora got up gratefully. They all walked to the infirmary after running into Sahara, scroll in talons. The infirmary had several leaf covered ledges and racks in every corner holding healing supplies. Clay layed Cometflinger on a ledge and checked his heartbeat.

While Clay did that, Sunny got water and Aurora and Sahara reviewed the scroll. "'Hatched of Ice and Hatched of Night'. What do you think that means?" Sahara asked.

"Well, I think it means someone is Hatched of Ice and Night. Icewing and Nightwing. Me."

"And blue forever bright?"

"I don't know, maybe a Seawing?"

"Blessed with powers they do not know, Hatched with powers to kill or to save, maybe that's about Comet and his visions?"

"No, I think it refers to both of us. I have powers as well."

"True, the 'to kill or to save' part bugs me."

"Yeah, me to"

Aurora realized something. She looked up at Sahara, wonder in her eyes. "What if..." She trailed off, looking around her. There. A rock was sitting on the ground a few feet away from them. She picked it up and grinned. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" "If your an animus, I will scream." "Please don't." She thought for a moment, then looked at the rock in her talons, and whispered,"I enchant this rock to turn into a beautiful black ring with fire opals in it that will fit the wearer perfectly." She closed her eyes and imagined it. She felt the rock turn warm in her talons, with a light tingle in her claws. She opened her eyes. A small, black ring with three ovals, one on either side of the main one, pink with yellow-green speckles on it. In the middle, there were four dark purple crystals that looked liked amethyst surrounding the middle gem.The middle gemstone was facing opposite way than the ones on the other sides, for they were in the same direction of the ring. Aurora quickly grabbed Sahara's snout, forcing it closed. She took in the beauty of the ring, then it hit her. "I'm an animus," she whispered. Sahara peeled her claws off her face. "I'm so jealous." Then Sunny came in with a bucket of water. Aurora put the ring on her claw. Sunny and Clay exchanged a glance, then Clay noded. Sunny poured the water on Cometflinger, waking him up with a yelp. "What happened?" he asked, rubbing his eyes. Aurora rolled her eyes and said,"There was a zombie apocalypse and you almost died at the hands of a demon. What do you think happened?" Comet laughed. He jumped off the ledge. Sunny said," You can go, but don't make any more trouble." "Alright!" Comet responded with a twinkle in his eyes, as if to say 'We will talk later'. Aurora took one look at him, gave him a small nod, looked back at the gold Sandwing, and snorted,"Since when do we ever get in trouble?" and ran off with her friends.
