*Present Time*

That Night:

Aurora and Sahara were walking down the tunnel to there cave, their claws making small clicking sounds as they hit the floor. Their eventful day had left them feeling tired. They turned around the corner and saw a small pale blue and gold Rainwing in the hammock, staring right at them. "Hello," she said, "Are you my new claw mates?" The other two dragonets looked at each other. "Yes," Sahara confirmed. Aurora looked at her pale eyes, and realized that she was blind. "Can I feel you faces?" The two looked at each other. "Suure...?" The Sandwing responded, looking back at Aurora, confused. The hybrid mouthed "She's blind." Sahara nodded, understanding. The Rainwing got up from the hammock and stood up, a head and a half shorter than the both of them. She held her talon out. Aurora crouched and pressed her snout against The Rainwing's claws and closed her eyes. Aurora felt claws gently move across her face, head, neck, back, and wings. "What tribe are you from?" Tamarin asked as she opened her eyes again. "I don't recognize your scales." Aurora paused before saying, "That's just it. I'm not from any one tribe-" "A hybrid?" "Yes I-" "Icewing?" Aurora paused. "How'd you know? Your blind." "You have a lot of spikes, what else could you be?" Aurora opened and closed her mouth several times before saying,"A Spikewing?"

They all burst out laughing. "Those aren't real here though!" Sahara said between giggles. "Sooo?!" Aurora retorted. "Doesn't mean they can't be!" She turned back to Tamarin who was grinning, with lavender, rosy-pink, and yellow bursting into her scales. "I, am Aurora of the Icewings and Nightwings," She said proudly. Acid green popped up, shock and disbelief, if Aurora remembered correctly. "Icewings and Nightwings?!" She exclaimed "Yes," Both the girls replied calmly. "I thought they hated each other!" "Not all of them, apparently," Aurora replied. "Clearly," Sahara agreed. Tamarin ears twitched, probably had forgotten Sahara, or at the sudden increase of volume, or something else. "And this, is Sahara of the Sandwings." The hybrid grabbed the Sandwing's arm and pulled her closer, so that the blind Rainwing could feel her. Five minutes passed of them getting acquainted before Clay popped his head in. "Good to see you three getting along," He said, making them jump, startled. "Oh, hello," Sahara said, turning around. Aurora, on the other talon, bent her long neck completely backwards to look at him. "Hey," she said in a raspy voice, "This is completely normal, so don't tell me it's not." He barked a laugh. "Just so you three know, we have small group discussion classes in the morning. You will meet with the Jade winglet in a cave. Tamarin will show you the way. Alright?" "Tamarin? Sure," Sahara agreed, before noticing that the hybrid next to her had narrowed her eyes. "Lights out in five minutes." "Alright, this is starting to hurt," Aurora said, putting her neck in a normal position. "Being stabbed in multiple places at once is not fun." Clay nodded and walked away. "I guess it means we should go to bed now, I'm tired," Sahara said. As if to prove her point, Aurora yawned, long and loud and stretching her jaws to the fullest, showing off her fangs. "Sure. I'm fine with that." Then Sahara yawned as well.

They all went to bed, blowing out all but one light, casting the room in a dull red glow perfect for sleeping. Aurora's last thought was: I wonder if they'll like me.
