They ran away before Annastasia found them, but found themselves in another predicament, there were no trees this way.
"Alpha, are you going to be able to make it?" Georgia was worried about him, but he answered surely.
"In my human form, I am only in danger to those of human risks." It seemed like a fair point, to Georgia at least.
They ran through, and Georgia still noticed Alpha's blazer start to smoke, but she said nothing. Once they were past the open plains, Georgia told Alpha about his blazer, which was now burnt along the hem.
"I can just transform back, fix my fur coat, and when I transform into my human form, it will be good as new." Alpha brushed off the facts one by one, leaving Georgia with nothing to say.
•Back At Camp•
"Wait, Alpha, there's something under that rock." Georgia noticed a red ooze spilling out from under the rock. When they lifted the rock, they saw the body of a white wolf, branded with the number 164.
"It's Starly, the medicine wolf." Alpha had a low, monotone tone about him, it was clear he was devastated.
They held a ceremony for Starly, they all sat silent, and sent her off by drinking her blood. For Georgia, however, this changed her. Drinking the deceased's blood was vulgar, and upon swallowing, she grew terrible headaches.
"Do you have Advil, guys?" Georgia said in between grunts of pain, then passed out.
The wolves carried her into Alpha's den and laid her down. Alpha transformed back and laid next to her, giving her warmth. The guards left to get herbs to help her, but while they were gone, a horrific storm had struck. Alpha, Beta, and Delta were huddled around Georgia, keeping her warm.
"Why is her head twitching like that, Alpha?" Beta had said, utterly confused.
••After the Storm••
The storm lasted for almost a day, drenching the underbrush of the forest, and causing trees to collapse. Yet only one guard returned with the healing herb.
"General, where is the pack." Alpha questioned him.
"Sir Alpha, the troop, a tree fell on some of them while they were under a leaf collecting, as for the others, just disappeared." The general had no tone in his voice, but you could hear a small tremble. Losing the troop, he must have felt it was his fault.
That night, General left camp while everyone was asleep, and headed toward the Bandit's Den.
"General, you carried out the mission of killing of the team?" said one of the more shady bandits.
"It's done, Vincent."
