(Penny's POV)

It was nearly 3 in the afternoon when I got back at the house. The house was empty, I wonder where they are. I texted James and he said that they're practicing for upcoming gigs that Joe arranged for them. I threw my phone on the sofa and grabbbed some chips in the fridge. I watched a couple of movies piled underneath the player and I found this interesting chick flick and inserted 'The Vow.' A few minutes later I shivered at the temperature so I paused the movie and ran upstairs to get a thick duvet.

It's my first time to watch this romantic movie and believe me I have done nothing but cry and cry because the girl had a freaking amnesia but she remembered everything except for his freaking husband. Then add the fact that I'm watching this alone.

I kept on whimpering until I heard a voice behind me.

"I thought you said you don't like chick flicks?"

I jumped and rotated my head to know who it was while wiping my tear-stained cheeks. It's the hot dirty-blonde-head guy who I think I'm falling for.

...did I just say that?

"Well, I like 'em, just a little," I smiled weakly, rubbing my eyes and returned my attention to the movie.

"What's the title?" He asked as he sat down beside me. "The Vow," I replied simply.

"By the way," I continued, "Where are the others?"

"Oh they just dropped by at Nandos for their late lunch," he said. "Ohh they better bring something home," I giggled. I was starving at the moment so I dragged my phone from the table infront of me and texted James.

To: James

Hey cous, kindly get me something from Nandos please? I'm getting hungry. Thanks xx ☺

As soon as I pressed send, a name appeared on the screen. It was Bethany, calling so I answered it.

Hey bestfriend! What's up- wait are you crying?

Hey Penny! Oh, yeah, listen, can I come over at yours? I don't have a place to stay for the day anymore. I'll just explain everything later.

Okay okay, I'll text you the address. See ya! Keep safe okay?

Bye.

She hung up then I stood up and started pacing around the living room while cursing out, making Connor worry.

"What's the problem Penny?"

"It's my bestfriend Bethany... oh no... sh-she was c-crying and-" I was interrupted by a pair of warm hands cupping my face and my worries were lessened by two blue concerned eyes looking deeply into mine.

"Look she'll be fine Penny, I promise you," he assured me. Then he hugged me so tight, attempting to comfort me and assure me. But still, I can't stop worrying about Bethany. My bestfriend was crying and I wasn't there to help her, whatever her problem may be, right now. Well I don't even know what it is. It might be serious.

Our hug was broken by a loud thump on the door moments later. I ran quickly to open it and as soon as I saw my bestfriend puffy-eyed I engulfed her immediately with open arms.

"What happened? Tell me," I demanded, rubbing her back to lessen her tears. We sat on the sofa and Connor excused himself as he thinks it's a confidential topic but Beth said it was okay for him to know. She started explaining those shit to me and when I heard that Robin slapped her hard on the cheek, I balled up my fists; my anger was getting out of control, but Connor held my arm warning me with a genuine smile so I calmed myself to withstand my anger.
