(Oh and sorry for taking so long)
I stood and waited, foot tapping on the ground. My thoughts kept traveling back to earlier, when that man came out of William's house and I thought him to be William. And then I got so embarrassed when I realized it wasn't him... I should've been polite and talked to him, but instead I got all weird and ran inside. Why must I be so dam awkward around others? Then again, fourteen years living by yourself does leave you slightly socially impaired.
And that's when I decided to leave the note. I just wrote it down and placed it on the end of a sword. I doubted that would be the last place he'd see it, but until he did I'd just stand here and wait, every day at five, dressed all in black. Well, mostly in black. My shoes were grey. But that didn't matter. He'd know it was me. And I hoped I'd know if it was him.
I took a quick look up at the clock on the churchtower. Almost five. Making sure nobody was around to see, I quickly dashed along the streets, out to the forest where the compund was. Well, I did after running around lost for a few minutes. But I did find it eventually.
Bingo. There he was, looking just the same as earlier today. I gave him a small smile and a little wave to let him know it was me. He seemed surprised by my sudden appearance, but came on over. I couldn't really tell how he was feeling by her facial expressions, but he didn't look like this was taking up precious time.
"So, what am I here for?"
"Something simple. Nothing challenging, nothing time-consuming."
He nodded curiously, but I could see he was thinking 'oh boy, now what?'
"Can you put in a good word for me to William? I really want to at least see him again."
"Why?"
"I can't stand being by myself anymore. And your little group's my only shot at having any sort of long-term company."
"Well what's in it for me?"
At this, I froze. The task I was asking him to do didn't really require much of an award, not in my opinion anyway. After a few minutes of thinking, my mind was drawn ablank.
"I don't know, Pheonix. I'll try and think of something."
He eyed me up suspiciously, then left. I have no clue if I can even trust him to actually carry it out. I have no clue what's going to happen. But I won't give in. I'll just wait. And if he won't do it, maybe someone else will...
I won't give in. Won't.
I began to walk back to the town, not sure what to think of all of this. But soon, I'll hopefully be with people like me. People who aren't human. And I won't be alone.
