Chapter 16

I woke up beside Zack a few hours later with a huge smile on my face. Ok we still hadn’t gone out on a date but Zack gave me something better, he showed trust in me, he listened when I had to talk, it was more than sex. I thought back to my mom’s question, do you love him? Now I knew for sure the answer was yes as I watched him sleep.

I ran my hand down his washboard abs, I liked watching him sleep but maybe I wanted him to wake up. “Zack,” I whispered in his ear. “I know you’re faking it now.” I planted a few kisses on his chest then up to his chin then his lips, he kissed me back. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I ended up back on my back and he leaned over me.

I ran my hand through his hair, as a teen Zack had his hair long and always tied back in a ponytail. As an adult he had his hair cut short but for the last few weeks he didn’t cut it and it was growing fast. I was a fan of him with long hair. He kissed me again before looking at me. “That’s a hell of a way to wake up.” He said with a lopsided grin.

“Yeah.” I said as I brushed the strands of dirty blonde hair away from his forehead. “You don’t have to be back at work anytime soon do you?”

“If the boss needs me he’ll call. Why?” Zack asked as his eyes darkened and his thoughts followed mine. I smiled and kissed him. I could get use to this, I was getting use to this. And that was great, I was happy but a part of me feared it would end and I’d be heart broken over Zack all over again. But it’s best not to think of that right? Live in the now Sam live in the now.

Zack ran his hand down my ribs to my hip, he wrapped my leg around him within seconds he was inside of me. My hand dug into his shoulder and I leaned harder into the bed. Every time we were together was better than the last and I didn’t think that was possible anymore. Zack had really learned a lot since our time ten years ago. “Shit.” I gasped that’s when the world became a better place, it faded away. When your day was crappy there was nothing like the best orgasm of your life.

“Sam?” Zack said close to my ear. “You can open your eyes.”

“Just give me a minute.” I said and I could feel him smile against my neck.. “You’re too good at this.” I said when our eyes met.

“So are you.” Zack said and I scoffed, this caused him to grin and bite my lower lip. “That thing you do with your hips…wow.”

I blushed. “I’m glad there’s something you like.”

“Oh there’s a lot I like.” Zack said as his hand began to explore my body under the sheet covering us.

I shuddered with delight this was going to be fun. And wouldn’t you know it the phone rang! “Crap!” I yelled then answered the phone because if not it would only keep ringing and the moment would be lost. “Yes?” I tightly asked, this better be good.

“Sam, it’s your mother we have to talk.” Ok it wasn’t good but it was different, whatever the reason she called had to be important.

My body screamed at me in protest as I moved away from Zack and sat up. “What’s up mom?” I asked and let him know who was on the other line.

“You told me you knew Art’s son, do you know how to contact him?” she asked and I could hear in her voice she didn’t want to involve me, not that anyone ever did.

“Why?” I asked as I became very curious, this was my mom it just felt weird to have her caught up in all of this. “If something is going on please just tell me.”

“It’s nothing for you to worry about.” She said in her mom tone she used on us as kids. “I have to go.” and she hung up.

I put the phone back down on its cradle and Zack asked me what’s wrong. “My mom wants to talk to Joey.” I said and began to explain the rest when he looked confused. I told him Art and my mom were once an item
