The day started with my mother reminding me about my doctor's appointment.
Like I would forget.
The day went on fairly normally... if you don't include all of the whispers going around about Simeon.
Some of them were true, such as the fact that he transferred from Ark Academy.
Everyone was already there when I arrived. Well, almost everyone. Luckily they were still in the waiting room. Jenna sighed as I sat down, "Late."
Christy caught my eye, giving me a questioning look. "Yeah, sorry. The bus didn't come so I had to take the community one."
"Sucks to suck." Aaron Jackson entered the room, ruffling my hair. I swatted his hand away and huffed. Being older than us, he thinks of us as kids. Well, not all of us. Only everyone between the ages of 0 and 15.
He took the available seat next to Jenna, who rolled her eyes and said, "Late." To him as well. At least she's consistent.
"You bet." Aaron said, wearing a familiar smirk.
"Where were you the other night? Found better people to hang out with?" Sammi asked.
"Relax, I just had to catch up on some work." He replied, not missing a beat.
"Here I am!" Dr. Irisad walked through the door with a big smile on his face.
"Oh, did I startle you? Greatest apologies." He said. The previous mood was dispelled just like that.
"Where's Dr. Marilyn?" Sammi asked. Dr. Irisad seemed to have deflated at that question. "She's just finishing up a report or whatever." He mumbled, waving us into the hallway. We gladly followed.
The hospital has changed a lot over the years. The one change I am the most happy about is the fact that they painted the overwhelming white walls into a more creamish color.
"Xavier?" Irisad stared at me with a concerned expression. That can't be good.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Can you stand there? I have to measure your height."
"Oh, right." I was just being spacey. Again.
"Five eleven..." He marked it down on the board. We were all similar heights, like they said we would be. Except Brody and Aaron who were both currently 6'2", but that was normal.
"You good?" Brody whispered to me as we were walking to the next portion of the check-up.
"Yeah, yeah." I was fine, just tired probably.
The next hour I went on autopilot. We had gone through this so many times that we didn't even have to think. Except for the logic puzzles, of course but those are easy. They're supposed to be, for us anyway. At the end, we would get the same smile, grinning at us and thanking us for being a part of Project Re-Gen.

"So are you leaving again?" Sammi asked, folding her arms.
We all waited for Aaron's answer.
"I..." He looked at me and I raised my eyebrows at him. I'm not going to lie, our group has been working fine without him and his condescending tone but it would be fun to have the whole squad together.
"Okay, okay. No need for the puppy-dog eyes, I'll come." Two words which turned everyone's mood into a cheery one.
