The Reveal

'It's all true.' Chloe's face turns white as she takes a step back.

'Detective?' asks Lucifer as he looks confused at Chloe. Why is she reacting like this?

'It's all true.' Says Chloe once more, it's the only words and thoughts she can muster. Lucifer starts to feel a big discomfort, yet then the puzzle pieces seem to fall into place. Cain's words, the Detective's reaction... Lucifer feels his cheeks, the texture of his skin has changed, his Devil face is back. Chloe is frozen into place as a few seconds pass. Whilst Chloe is trying to process all of this, Lucifer feels as if the puzzle pieces that have fallen into place have created a bomb. Lucifer feels a tingling sensation in his fingers as if all that he has built upon with the Detective is now slowly slipping out of his hands. Lucifer turns his face back to normal, this seems to calm Chloe down to a slight extent. Lucifer takes a step forward and asks once more,

'Detective?' This verbal communication seems to jump Chloe back into reality. However, what is even real at this point? Chloe's mind flips through the pages in her mind, as if she was searching through Lucifer's and Chloe's past for any hints, any indication that this couldn't be true. However, she also remembers that maybe this is truly the truth.

'How...' asks Chloe carefully as she takes a step forward, maybe this is due to her bravery or curiosity. Lucifer feels nervous, maybe even scared though he doesn't want to admit it.

'I've been trying to tell you Detective, I am the Devil.' Lucifer slightly raises his arm, he doesn't want Chloe to run away from him. He doesn't want to lose her. Chloe holds her own head, she has a headache.

'But it doesn't make sense,' says Chloe whilst she loses all her sense of logic, 'how is this possible?' Lucifer gives a light shrug as he looks at Chloe in comforting look. Lucifer answers Chloe's question:

'the world's always been this way Detective, you just didn't get to see it.' Lucifer looks down as he gives a light chuckle, maybe it is to relief himself from his own fear. Chloe thinks for a bit until finally she can focus on something else than Lucifer's true nature,

'you killed Pierce.' She states, hoping for something to get rid of this tension. Lucifer looks at Cain's corpse as he says,

'Yes, I did, it's better that way.' Yet Lucifer can't help but feel strange about it. Lucifer is not a killer, he doesn't want to be a monster. However, here he is, Devil face and all. Lucifer takes out the demon knife out of Cain's chest, he won't need that anymore. Lucifer starts facing Chloe again as he hides the demon knife in his suit jacket, the two of them are still far apart. However, there is no way back now. Chloe sighs, this is all too much. Lucifer looks at Chloe with sympathy.

'It's a lot to process, I know.' Chloe looks back at Lucifer,

'How could you possibly know?' Lucifer puts his hands in his pockets as he finally walks to a normal distance towards Chloe. Now they aren't so far apart, luckily.

'This is not my first time dealing with something like this Detective.' Chloe nods and slowly is processing this.

'Okay,' Chloe takes a breath, 'I guess I just... need some time.' Chloe nods again as she says this to give herself reassurance. Lucifer is quite happy about this too and nods as well,

'very well Detective.' Lucifer still looks nervous, but Chloe has already moved on from her own problems and is starting to focus back to work.

'Dan and Ella are at the penthouse, we should probably go to them before they get even more worried.' Yet again Lucifer nods, in a small sense the two are back together.
