Lucifer Season 4 Episode 1

The New Lieutenant

Lucifer has driven to the precinct and is now entering the building. He walks down the stairs as he hears frantic talking, maybe even gossiping. By now the entire precinct knows that Pierce is dead. Lucifer walks to Chloe who is standing with Dan and Ella.

'Seems like the word got out.' Says Lucifer as he watches the commotion. Chloe says

'Let's just hope this all turns out okay.' Then a different person enters the precinct. He has bright blue eyes and a grizzled beard. The people of the precinct go quiet, the man looks like he is from the FBI. The stranger speaks,

'I am FBI-agent Allan Haynes, I will be the investigator of your lieutenant's murder. In the mean time I'll also act as the new lieutenant. Let's all stay organised and calm down while we find the perpetrator, there's no need to make this an unpleasant experience. Let's get to work everyone.' The people around the precinct start to scatter and do their work, Daniel and Ella included. Lucifer says to Chloe,

'He already seems nicer than Pierce. Let's hope you won't agree to marry him too.' Chloe nods and ignores Lucifer's joke. Allan walks over to Lucifer and Chloe,

'Detective Decker, it's nice to meet you.' Chloe and Allan shake hands,

'It's nice to meet you too sir.' Allan's expression turns more serious as he says,

'I heard you and Pierce used to be romantically involved?' Chloe nods,

'yes sir.' Allan then asks,

'Do you have anything to add to the investigation? I kind of need some insight.' Allan smiles politely as Lucifer butts in,

'Actually, we witnessed it.' It's no surprise that Allan immediately looks shocked. Chloe nods over to the interrogation room,

'Maybe we need to talk in some privacy?' Allan nods and the three walks into the interrogation room. They sit down, and Allan asks

'what happened?' Lucifer is about to speak, but Chloe stops him.

'Our co-worker Daniel Espinoza found out that Pierce was the Sinnerman and that he killed Charlotte Richards.' Allan asks,

'How did he come to that conclusion?' Lucifer finally speaks,

'Charlotte Richards was investigating Pierce for exactly that reason.' Allan thinks for a bit, he's probably trying to piece it all together. Then Allan asks

'How did he die?' Lucifer yet again answers,

'I killed him.' Chloe swiftly adds, 'out of self-defence.' Lucifer nods,

'Yes, self-defence. Pierce tried to kill me and the Detective because we were going to arrest him.' Allan nods and once again thinks it over. It appears that Lucifer and Chloe must set aside their situation to make sure that Haynes won't get them or himself in trouble. The Devil and the Detective explain the entire situation to Haynes, excluding any celestial details, hoping that will be enough for now. However, there is also another problem incoming.
