Dreaming of you.

my brain can't seem to shut down. It's 3 AM. I can't help but check my phone every few minutes, hoping she texts. my eyes slowly become heavy as I drift into a deep sleep.

Suddenly she's standing in front of me, her smile as beautiful as always. she takes my hand in her own and begins to speak "I have a confession" she looks at the ground "I like you, kim jennie" before I can respond I hear a faint ringing and suddenly my eyes open. It was just a dream.

I groan and shut my alarm up before getting out of bed. I go for a shower and get ready for the boring day ahead. once I'm dressed I check my phone to see a text from an unknown number.

Unknown
Good morning! it's chaeyoung, How is our baby doing?

I can't help but smile at the text, even her texts are perfect and cute to me. My fingers hover over the keyboard for a few moments before I finally think of something to respond with

Me
Morning, she's doing great.

I quickly hit send and head to the living room where the small shoebox sits. I look in to see the small and scared bird looking at me. she seems to have gotten better after I fed her. My phone rings again and I check it excitedly and see her name flash on my screen.

I was thinking we could take her to the vets if you're not busy

Oh my god. My heart starts to beat faster and my palms become sweaty like they always do whenever I'm near her

Sure

chaeyoungs POV

I meet jennie at the park and smile when I see her holding the familiar shoebox. I approach her but she looks a little nervous. "Hey, I'm sorry for taking up your time" she shakes her head quickly "it's fine, I didn't have any plans" I nod and we begin to walk to the local veterinarian clinic. the walk is quiet, jennie seems shy which is odd because she seems like a strong and outgoing girl. maybe there's more to her than I thought. the silence never seemed to leave us until she finally cleared her throat to say something "um I was wondering if you wanted to get coffee or something after we go to the vets?" she seemed nervous when asking me, cute. I nodded happily "sure I'd love to"

after the vets, Jennie's pov

after leaving our "baby" as chaeyoung liked to call it with the vet to receive treatment and hopefully return to it's real mother she seemed a little sad. we walked to the closest coffee shop. my hands keep sweating, I'm still not sure what to say or do. "What do you want?" She smiles her pretty smile which makes my heart skip a beat. "Just a black coffee" she nods and walks to the counter as I take a seat. I look around and notice a familiar face, kang seulg. I pull out my phone with a smirk

your girlfriend is right
in front of me ;)

Irene
she's not my girlfriend >:(
wait.. where are you?

Me
Getting a coffee... WITH CHAEYOUNG

Irene
WAIT WHAT?? HOW??

Me
I'll tell you all later.

i put my phone down as I see chaeyoung sit down. she sits my drink in front of me. at first it's awkward but somehow we start talking about our interests and stuff. she tells me about how she enjoys singing and how she loves animals. i tell her about my interest in fashion design which usually I don't talk about but when I'm with her it just feels like I can tell her anything. "Are you going to the party on Friday?" she asks me before sipping her coffee. usually I don't tend to attend teenage parties but if she's going.. maybe it wouldn't hurt.. "kim taeyeon's party? I'm not sure, are you?" taeyeon was a senior at our school who was pretty popular. we had spoken a few times since her and Irene are close friends and she seemed nice. chaeyoung nods "I'm going with Lisa" I don't know why but I felt a pang of jealousy towards lisa, she always spent time with chaeyoung and they seemed to be really close with each other.

"and then she said goodbye and I thought my heart had been ripped out of my chest" Irene rolled her eyes at me causing me to hit her playfully. after my meeting with the most beautiful girl in the world aka Park chaeyoung, I called Irene and she came over to hear about everything. "You're so over dramatic, jennie kim" I laughed at her and she smiled back at me. "I can't believe you're dragging me to the party" I somehow managed to convince Irene into coming to the party with me so that I wouldn't be completely on my own. "Seulgi will be there" I used the same line as I did the first time and she's sighed in defeat once again. I'm a coward when it comes to confessing but I just wish Irene would admit her feelings for seulgi and ask her out. they would be cute together. we spend the rest of the night talking about our crushes and watch a few movies. I'm glad to have a friend like Irene to spend time with.
