Chapter 10
Jade stayed in the hospital for another two days, where she went through a series of tests that was physically and mentally draining before she could leave. The only condition of leaving was she was to be under the watchful eye of the Blackwood brothers and random checkup with doctors to see how she is doing.
"Is that necessary?" She questioned when they bought a wheelchair into her room.
"It's protocol." Rolling her eyes Jade got into the wheelchair, wanting to get out of this place as soon as she could.
Marco pushed her out while Marcus filed the last of the paperwork. Jade knew everyone was fussing way too much over her small self-inflicted wound when there were other people out there that needed more help than her.
The moment they got outside Jade stood up from the wheelchair while Marco rolled his eyes as Jade stretched and breathed in the cool crisp morning air. Being outside with the sun on her face was something she missed even if it was only for a few days.
"Come on, I want to get home," Marcus grumbled like normal, so both Jade and Marco trailed behind Marcus towards the car where the moment they both got in Marcus was speeding out of there like the devil was on his tail.
Once they got back to the apartment building, they all sat in the car in silence none of them saying anything as they were all lost in their own thoughts. However, it didn't take long for Marcus to get out the car, slamming the door, and storming up towards his apartment. Marco sighed and looked back at Jade in the back seat who looked lost inside her mind.
"Jade, we better head inside." Jade's head snapped up at the sound of Marco talking to her and she nodded before frowning wondering where Marcus went. Sighing, she got out of the car and declined Marco's help, insisting that she was fine and capable of walking by herself.
When they got to Jade's apartment she opened the door only to be greeted by the sound of loud heavy music coming from next door. She knew she would not get that nap that she wanted and needed and knew she had to keep her mind occupied for a while.
"Sorry about the loud music." Jade jumped forgetting that Marco was still here with her.
"It's fine. You should make sure he is fine." Marco shrugged his shoulders knowing his brother was fine just letting off a little frustration.
"The doctor said we can't leave you alone until the week is over, so one of us will stay with you at all times." Jade groaned and was tempted to slam her head against the wall a few times, but knew that was an unwise choice to make because all it would accomplish was a sore head and a pounding headache.
"Whatever." She waved her hands in the air not caring because all she wanted was sleep. Whatever they gave her at the hospital was making her feel drowsy and tried.
"I'm going to take a nap so if you'll excuse me." Marco nodded as Jade made her way to her room and cursed Marcus to the high heavens and back at the loud music that was coming through her thin walls.
Not in the mood to deal with it she slipped under the covers and pulled her blankets up over her head hoping it would prevent some noise that was coming through. However, the blanket did nothing as the sound of a heavy, thumping beat, thumped its way through her room threatening to rattle her bones if it got any louder.
Knowing there wasn't much she could do Jade closed her eyes and listened to the thumping sound until her eyelids became too heavy and they closed at their own will.
When Jade arose from her nap, it surprised her to hear that everything around her was silent. She was expecting to wake to noise, instead of silence wrapped around the room, the silence that she found comforting. She swung her legs off the bed and ran her hands over her face sighing at the slight pain in her left arm.
