Ameka

Running through the rain toward the harbor, my feet were aching, and my clothes were drenched. I had to catch up to Alaina before someone else did telling my father that they had seen us. I slung the pillow case over my shoulder, running like a runaway slave.

"Alaina?" I called out.

No answer, just the thunder that sounded in the distance. I got to the harbor, and Alaina was standing under the pier crying. Luke stood next to Alaina holding her hand. My heart was now in my chest as my feet moved closer to the two. Luke held a smile on his face. His dreads we're wet, and his hand never let go of Alaina.

"Come to me Alaina." I called out.

Luke wouldn't drop her hand. He was my father's friend and I knew he would take us back to him.

"What are you doing out here Ameka?" Luke asked me.

"I'm leaving I can't take my father raping me!" I said as rain poured down my face.

Luke sighed stepping closer to me. "I'll get you out of here. New name, new identity if, and only if you do something for me."

Luke, just like my father was a dangerous man. Two of the biggest drug bossed in Jamaica. I didn't know whether I could trust Luke, but right now I had to take that chance.

"Why should I trust you?"

"Because I'm the only one you have right now. I see how your father is with you and Alaina. It's not my place to say anything, but it's not right. I couldn't imagine I assault my daughter the way Joe does you."

I watched Alaina look up at Luke. I could see the fear in her eyes. "What do I have to do?"

*******
"Wake up Ameka." Alaina walked in my room singing. I had a hangover and placed a pillow over my face.

"Go away!" I whined.

Alaina bounced on my bed. "Hell no! So tell me about last night."

"Laterrrr."

"Now Ameka."

I set up with an attitude. I covered my naked body with my blanket. "I went to the club with Toni."

"I know that." She rolled her eyes at me.

"So me and Toni ended up in VIP and you know me, I had to dirty wine! This fine ass dude saw me, and walked over to me."

"And?"

"That's it." I lay back down covering my face with my blanket. Alaina pulled it off.

"You ain't give up the drawers?"

"Hell no!"

"That was the purpose of going out, you needed some dick."

"That ain't me Alaina. Don't start with me." I said.

Alaina rolled her eyes at me.

"Oh, and there was a shoot out, and I kind of might have shot someone!"

Alaina eyes gree big. "What?"

"I mean they were shooting. I almost forgot I had it in my purse."

"Why can't you go out without a gun? Ameka, I gave you one mission."

I laughed, "I know, I know get some dick.".

"When was the last time you even got some?"

I thought about it, "two years ago."

"Get some dick!" Alaina said walking away. My sister acted as if it was that easy. The last man I was with cheated on me, and left me. I wasn't about to put my heart on the line again. I couldn't.

"Alaina!" I called out, remembering that she had disappeared the night before.

She peeked in the room. "Yeah?"

"Where were you the night before?"

Alaina sighed, looking at the window behind me. "I really don't want to talk about it."

I nodded. Something has been up with that girl.

Days had passed me by when I was with my son. I dropped him off with his mother and headed to the hood. I sparked up a blunt and entered the projects parking in the crowded parking lot. I spotted Deon and my boy Frank by the mailboxes at the end of the block.

"What up?" I asked walking up to them.

"Yo shit was wild a few nights ago, but the boys are on it." Deon assured me. He was talking in code about the shit that happened at the club. I ended up going to the hospital due to being shot in the arm.

"That's what's up. It was just a braze though, but lil nigga needs to be handled for real."

Deon agreed. Frank lit a cigarette. He was a old head that I had put on a few years ago. Even though he was a old head he got the young girls.

"I seen you talking to that cute thing at the club." Frank laughed.

I had forgot about her. Ameka, that was her name. She was exotic, her accent turned a brother on. What surprised me was the gun she had. I've never seen a girl pull a trigger and her aim was almost perfect. I didn't know who she was but I wanted to find out. Ameka didn't seem like a thug, or hood rat. But that gun was making a nigga wonder just who she really was.

"She seemed cool. I got to give her a call."

"She handled that gun like a pro" Deon said.

"Right." I pulled out my phone and texted her. No reply.

"I'll check y'all later on." I said dapping them up. I had almost forgot about the brown skin girl who wanted to taste my dick from building 212.
