"I need some advice. I always feel like I will never amount to anything. I want to mean something in the world but I feel like everyone who ever made a difference had to go through something hard, like a disability or a death. Obviously I don't want that to happen to me, so I also feel guilty for feeling this way! I've tried to make a difference, but I just don't know how. Help!"

Dear Normal, Sometimes I feel this way too and it can totally ruin you whole atttitude for the day. It's okay to feel that way sometimes especially when others are making great big changes everyday. You should always remember how special you are. Whenever I feel down about my capabilites, I pursue my hobbies. Do things that make you happy and that show your true talents. For example, I love painting and sketching. I decided not to stay bored all summer, so I joined a free art course. This automatically became a stepping stone in my life. Realize the little things you do REALLY matters and consider it as an achievement!Yes, I definitely agree that most successful people went through major hardships before reaching their grand finale of fame! But things happen, what matters is how they risen from those problems. Did they give up and stop trying? No, they pursued what made them happy and continued to make small stepping stones in their life. Most importantly is your mindset. There was time in my life where I constantly fought with my friends and reacted negatively everyday. I eventually surrounded myself with uplifting people and had motivation from my family. This helped me feel and stay positive. Always find a reason to smile everyday. It really sets you in a good mood! *Think about your definition of success and have a reliable plan of how you would reach that. What type of differences do you want to make? How can you achieve that? Make sure that you have a reliable step by step goal that you can pursue. Always remember that happiness comes from within. Best of Luck!
