*NOTE: This story is based on Disney's version of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", and also merely my imagination. I hope you like it!
Poison. One word, with too much meaning. Snow White hit the wooden floor, paralyzed and unable to brace herself for the fall. Above her, she heard an all too familiar cackle. It was the queen, and now it was all too late. Snow White slowly began to lose consciousness as she laid there, on the wooden floor, motionless as the time went ticking by.
She was quite peaceful given the circumstances. Not dead, but not quite alive; she was somewhere in between. What stirred her were the cries of her loyal friends, the dwarfs. They took care of her when no one else would, they knew Snow White better than anyone else.
After a while, Snow finally blacked out. Darkness blotched her thoughts, and Snow White was even closer to death than ever possible.
*~*~*~*
"What happened?" those were the first words to appear out of Snow White's blood red lips. Holding her fragile body was none other than the conceited Phillip Marshal. Colbin really wanted for Snow White to be alone, and having that Philip man hold onto her like a trophy was starting to frustrate him to no end. However, the townspeople seemed to think otherwise; there was to be a feast today, celebrating the return of their precious Snow White.
Flowers were hung everywhere, creating a pungent smell throughout the kingdom. It was a sunny day, and even the birds seemed to be in joy. Nobody dared to show the slightest hint of depression, but that wasn't the problem. That Phillip Marshals with his blond hair, and his signature, irritating smile that made all the girls swoon all over him, was the problem.
"Darling Snow White," Phillip started, making Colbin roll his eyes at Phillip's cheesy choice of words, "My wonderful kiss has saved you from death itself!" the crowd around the two began to applaud in rejoice.
It seemed that Snow White was lost for words, so Phillip took the crowd's attention again, "Darling Snow White, I am falling in love with your beautiful self. We shall be together forever and ever!"
Colbin couldn't take any more of this. Wasn't it obvious this thick headed git was only in love with Snow White's beauty? Not saying he was jealous of Phillip, just out of all the people Snow White could have been with, it had to be the Phillip Marshal. Scowling, the boy squeezed his way out of the roaring spectators.
Everyone seemed to look through Phillip's vanity, but why should Colbin care? All he needed was for Snow White to be alone. That way he could give Snow White the message.
Later that day, he decided how to do it. He wrote the message on the napkin that was to be served to Snow White along with her dinner the night of her return. Climbing on a tree, the boy settled himself on a branch near Snow White's room; he absolutely had to make sure she got the message.
It wasn't until an hour later when he saw Snow White.
She was coming back from the ceremony that took place that. The boy sighed in relief to see Snow White clutching the napkin, for his job here was done. Snow White's face contorted into a confused expression as she reread the message over and over again. And even then, Colbin couldn't help but hold his breath as he examined her breathtaking beauty.
Her frantic blue, yet also hazel eyes, were so captivating. Even being frightened, Snow White looked so delicate, yet firm, and too amazingly beautiful. But the frown that rested upon her red, excrutiatingly blood red, lips was not meant for that face.
Colbin couldn't blame her, for even he didn't know what the message meant. And he almost regret being the cause of that frown.
Colbin knew he should've left, but like many, he was mesmerized by her appearance. Staring at Snow White, she suddenly locked her eyes through her bedroom window, and straight into the boy's icy cold eyes.
Pure panic surged through Colbin, and then came the adrenaline. Scrambling down the tree, Colbin refused to look back as he ran towards the forbidden woods. Out of breath, he passed the scary branches he used to fear once upon a time, and towards the Cave.
"I've done it master." Colbin refused to look up. He was kneeling on one knee with his head bent down. He heard that thing rise up from its throne of darkness, and pace around its seat.
Colbin knew he had to look up, but not into the thing's eyes. Never those sickly yellow eyes that held so much malice. Instead he turned his attention towards the stone wall, avoiding that thing.
Colbin did not question the thing's authority, or what it meant. He just wanted his mother back. She was all he had. Colbin would do everything the thing asked, just to keep her safe. The thought of his mother and her sweet smell of homemade sugar cookies made the boy's eyes water.
For all children, even the particularly rebellious ones at the age of fifteen, love their mothers very dearly. And to have one taken away and locked up was simply more than any horrid nightmare a child could bare.
After an intense moment of silence, the thing finally spoke in its dark, chilling voice, "You've done my bidding, but remember, this is just the beginning."
A/N: There goes my prologue~! (Which for me, is a HUGE accomplishment).
