"Kiss me."
"WHAT?!" Gilbert suddenly shouted, jumping up from the bench he was sitting on as Alfred sat there with a serious look on his face.
"Dude- girls do it all the time. It's not sexual its like friend stuff... it'll get all of this gay business out of your system" Alfred spoke, laughing at Gilbert's reaction. Gilbert looked at Alfred laughing on the bench and realized he was being genuine. Maybe he was right. One peck and he'd know for sure.
"I-I don't know Alfred" Gilbert replied, kind of not wanting to know if he was attracted to guys. He liked being in limbo. Then he wouldn't have to come to terms with how he felt. If he kissed Alfred and he liked it, then he'd have to admit to himself that he was actually bisexual. He didn't know if he was ready to do that quite yet. It had already been an overwhelming week.
"It's fine if you don't want to. It's just a suggestion" Alfred said lightheartedly, trying not to make Gilbert feel pressured to make a decision if he didn't want to. Gilbert mulled over his options.
"I just don't want this to make things awkward between us" Gilbert admitted.
"Like I said- it's not sexual. Think of it like those games of spin the bottle we used to play in middle school. Remember? We both kissed Francis like 2 times. Somehow the bottle always seemed to land on him" Alfred recalled, chuckling softly as he remember the childish games they used to play at parties when they were younger. Gilbert laughed as he remembered Francis trying to slip his tongue into his mouth.
"Now that I think of it, he was always the one who wanted to play the game in the first place" Gilbert spoke, eliciting a smile from Alfred.
"I remember when you kissed Elizaveta and we forced you guys to play 7 minutes in heaven. Middle school was a hot mess" Alfred exclaimed.
"Oh my god! I remember we went into the closet and kissed like twice before getting bored and talking about our tamagotchis" Gilbert recalled, smirking as he realized that had been his first kiss. The two were smiling, swimming in nostalgia as they recalled late nights at 12th birthday parties in Francis's basement. He always insisted in hosting the parties, regardless of whether or not he was close with the person whose birthday it was.
Lost in thought, Gilbert suddenly remembered why they were having this conversation. Not wanting it to get awkward again, he sat back down on the bench. "Let's get this over with" he said suddenly, looking over at Alfred, who jerked his head back in surprise.
"You sure?" Alfred asked. Gilbert nodded, scooting closer to him on the bench. Alfred reciprocated. Gilbert could feel his face growing hot. Alfred swallowed. Gilbert took a deep breath. Alfred looked into his scarlet eyes. Gilbert leaned closer until they were just inches away. When Gilbert could feel Alfred's breath on his lips, he could suddenly hear his own pulse in his ears.
Deciding to not prolong the moment any longer, Gilbert connected their lips softly. His hands stood rigid by his sides, and it was nothing more than a 3 second long awkward connection of skin to skin. When Gilbert pulled back, he blushed a deep shade of red. Alfred began to giggle and rub the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Did you feel anything?" Alfred asked, curious now that it was over and done with.
"Nope" Gilbert replied nonchalantly, eliciting another awkward giggle from Alfred. He had never told a worst lie in his life. Not only did he feel something, he felt everything. Never in his life had something felt so right. 3 seconds had never felt shorter. Lips never felt so soft. Alfred never looked so attractive. Gilbert was suddenly overwhelmed with emotion, but forced to opress it.
"See? Told you- no big deal" Alfred responded, a little flushed but seemingly calm as he stood up from the bench and put his jacket on.
"Yeah haha" Gilbert said, his voice breathy as he tried to regain his breath. He never knew a kiss so short could take his breath away for so long. He had to go home and think. Now he didn't know what to do. As he packed up his stuff, he realized he had left his keys hanging on a hook near the showers.
When Gilbert returned from grabbing his keys, Alfred had already packed up all his stuff. "I'm gonna head out, see you tomorrow" Alfred stated, flashing a blinding smile as he slipped his backpack onto his back.
"Alright see ya" Gilbert shot back, giving a slight wave. Alfred nodded once more before heading out of their section of the locker room. As Gilbert began to pack up and tidy his section of the locker room, he heard Alfred turn around and head back towards their section of the locker room.
"One more thing" Alfred said, dropping his backpack on the ground as he approached Gilbert.
"Wh-" Gilbert began before Alfred slammed him against the locker and connected their lips, his hand gripped on Gilbert's jaw as he deepened it, leaving Gilbert melting against the lockers. Gilbert stood there, his hands on Alfred's chest as he pushed his lips back against Alfred's.
Just as Gilbert was about to come up for air, Alfred let go and hurriedly grabbed his backpack, walking out of the locker room with absolutely no explanation as to what had just happened. Gilbert stood there in the same position Alfred had left him in, very confused and very turned on, not knowing what to do. He stood there for a while, Alfred's smell lingering in the place he had just been.
"It's not sexual" Gilbert muttered, recalling what Alfred had said earlier. How could that not have been sexual? Gilbert had never had someone touch him so passionately in his entire life. He had a girlfriend for 3 months sophomore year and she and Gilbert never even came close to that level of romance.
What the fuck was he thinking? Why would he do that? Gilbert couldn't understand what had compelled Alfred to come back. Maybe he was testing him. He didn't know. Now he was more confused than he was before. Gilbert groaned and ran a hand through his hair. He had to go home and get to bed.
