Chapter Three.

Kace put two fingers in his mouth and blew out a loud, echoing whistle.

I covered my ears with my hands from the deafening noise, "What the hell was that for."

"You'll see."

I rolled my eyes at his blunt response and slid the large t-shirt over my head. I have accepted about three seconds ago that there was nothing I could have done. I couldn't have known that he was right behind me about to jump on my back. Even if I had looked behind me, he was way too fast and way too strong. I always knew that the Wolfsbane Pack's alpha was powerful, but not to this extent. Kace didn't even have to be in his wolf form to take me down and that shocks me. Never have I been in the presence of someone so mighty.

The ground rumbling broke me away from my thoughts. My head jerked toward the direction of the loud stomping and I saw a wall of black coming closer and closer. It was the Wolfsbane wolves. Kace's whistle had called them toward us. My heart got caught in my throat and I stood up quickly, backing away. I hit Kace's chest while backing up and he gripped my upper arm tightly, preventing me from running away. The large, terrifying wolves finally came into view and formed a circle around Kace and I.

"I have captured the daughter of Alpha Cason." Kace spoke to his pack proudly.

The wolves snorted and howled in excitement, making me sick to my stomach. Knowing that the whole pack saw me as a prize made a feeling of dread overtake my body. I shook under Kace's firm grip and fought the urge to try and escape. However, with these dangerous wolves surrounding us, maybe running won't be the best idea.

"Jet, step forward." Kace demanded.

One of the bigger, tougher looking wolves stepped forward. It bowed its head to show appreciation toward Kace.

"You are to carry Sage back to the pack house. Once you arrive, take her to a secure place and lock the door. We can not have her escaping." He ordered, "I will go back and finish off what we started back there."

How does he know my name?

"No... please!" I screamed as Kace's hand grabbed my hips to put me on so-called 'Jet's' back.

Even with my semi-tall 5'7 height, I still had to be lifted pretty high up in order to be placed on the wolf's back. I kicked and screamed to prevent myself from being taken away. However, Kace didn't even flinch as he easily lifted me onto Jet's back. Luckily the large t-shirt covered up my whole body and kept down there protected from the soft fur.

"If you try and jump off on the way there, I will have you killed instantly." Kace threatened with not an ounce of remorse in his voice.

I looked at him with desperation in my eyes. I could feel the back of my eyes burning as I tried to hold back tears. How could someone not feel guilty about taking a daughter away from her father? Not just my father, but my entire family. Doesn't he have a father? Why can't he understand the pain that I am feeling? Kace stared back at me with no emotion. His amber eyes locked daringly onto mine as if saying 'try me'. I broke eye contact, looking away with defeat. I gripped the silky, midnight black fur in my hands and tightened my legs around Jet's torso to keep balance. This was going to be a long, somber ride.

"Get her there safely. We don't want her dead, we want her to suffer." Kace said.

A shiver ran down my spine at his words. Jet nodded his head and without a second glance he started running. A few wolves followed behind him to keep watch just in case I tried to escape. I gripped the fur tightly as the tears finally escaped, blowing off of my cheeks from the force of the wind. My hope decreased as a got further and further away from the place I called home.
