Draco’s POV
I opened my eyes and instinctively held Hermione tighter against me. She was leaving today. I knew she had to go. I had to let her go. But it still hurt.
Hermione stirred and snuggled in closer against my chest. Her sigh played across my skin, causing me to shiver slightly as I stroked her hair. She slipped her arm around my waist and looked up at me slowly.
“Morning, beautiful,” I whispered, kissing her lightly on the tip of her nose.
She pulled my face down to hers and pressed her lips to mine without a word. I kissed her passionately, holding her body tight to mine. But then I moved my lips to her cheeks to kiss her tears away.
“Don’t cry, love,” I whispered gently. “This is only a temporary goodbye. We’ll find each other again once you and your friends have succeeded.”
She nodded slowly, taking a steadying breath. “You just have to promise me you won’t give in to Voldemort while I’m gone. No matter what he does, you can’t go to him. He’ll kill you.”
I rested my forehead against hers. “I promise.”
Hermione rolled over on top of me, her hair creating curtains on either side of our faces. I wrapped my arms around her and trailed my fingers up and down her back as I stared into her beautiful eyes.
“I love you so much,” she whispered against my lips.
“I love you too,” I whispered back.
She trailed her lips along my skin slowly. “Do you really want to marry me?”
I tilted my head slightly and closed my eyes, savoring the feeling of her lips. “Of course.”
“I guess we’ve already taken away part of the experience of our honey moon,” she said shyly, her cheeks flaming.
I chuckled quietly. “We can repeat last night at our honey moon very easily.”
She pressed her face against my neck as she blushed deeper. “Sorry, I shouldn’t be so embarrassed about this. Last night was… amazing.”
I kissed her shoulder tenderly. “It’s okay to be embarrassed. I think it’s cute.”
Her lips found their way to mine again. “I need to get ready.”
I nodded and reluctantly let her go.
