Jellybean stumbled off the bus, still tearful from the evenings events. The yelling, the alcohol, the boyfriend, her mother, and horrible Toledo. Jellybean had to leave. She had to get to Jughead. The bus pulled away from the stop, leaving Jellybean to find her way through the pitch black. It had rained not long ago, so the streets in riverdale were caked in mud. The streetlights were few and far between, only illuminating small patches of road. There was only one thing to do. Find the trailer. The trailer that had been her home till the day she was yanked from its rickety steps by her mother, and hauled to Toledo. Jellybean began to walk down the road, listening to the crickets fill the otherwise silent air. Her white converse slowly turned brown, after shuffling through a few piles of mud. Jellybean began to recognize her surroundings, And in the distance was the neon glow of something so familiar. Pop's diner, home of the best milkshakes for miles seemed to beckon her. Suddenly, jellybeans stomach dropped as her shoe hit a stick, sending her hands-first to the ground. The impact hurt, and jellybean pushed herself onto her knees trying to recover. As she was picking small pebbles out of her palms, it dawned on her how quiet it had just become. No cricket sounds, no humming of the neon pops sign, no sound. Fearing the worst, Jellybean reached for her ears. The aids were gone. She felt around in the mud for them with no luck. They must have been loose in her ears. Jellybean slowly stood, her breathing panicked and shallow. Her chest pounded and in her heart there was a dull pain. The trailer wasn't far. She had to keep moving. Jellybean began to walk again, her legs and arms shaky from her fall. A sizable patch of cold mud stained her shirt, making the garment feel heavy. The pain in her chest was growing, and tears begun to fall down her cheeks.
Finally the shabby sign for Sunnyside Trailer Park was in view. The sound of someone yelling and a glass bottle smashing across the park was unknown to Jellybean's ears. Her eyes flickered around her, watching out for what she couldn't hear. The iconic Jones trailer was just in front of her. She would have walked past if it weren't for the light on inside. Jellybean walked up the rotting wooden steps and raised her fist to knock on the door. Right as she knocked, the full pain in her chest became sharp and shot through her body. Jellybean gasped without knowing and clutched her chest. Just then, the door flew open. Jughead stood in the doorway, rubbing his eyes sleepily.
"What do you want Sweetpea?" He yawned. Jellybean saw his lips move but couldn't answer, so she frantically tugged in his shirt. Jughead looked down. "Jellybean...w-what are you doing here? How did-." He was interrupted by Jellybean tugging on his S t-shirt again and beginning to sign. "Juggie. I need help." She signed. Just as when she had knocked on the door, a sharp pain ripped through her chest before she could sign more. Jellybean fell forward into Jughead's arms and cried out in pain. She looked up at him and managed to sign "my heart hurts." Jughead's eyes went wide he picked up Jellybean and carried her inside. He set her on the couch and frantically grabbed his phone. The last thing she saw was her beloved brother toss his beanie at the wall and nearly pull his hair out while yelling into the phone. Then the her eyes became fuzzy and everything went black.————————————————————————
