Alexander Hamilton
I take a deep breath and opened the door to my new apartment.
I stepped in and put my bag next to the door.
I don't even know why I have this apartment.
I didn't pay for it.
the people back in Nevis did.
I don't even need it.
I could stay in a dorm like the other college kids!
They payed for so much already.
They payed to get me to New York.
To buy me school shit.
To get me almost everything I own.
My phone.
My laptop.
My clothes.
My bag.
My furniture.
Everything... but the bracelet.
I look at my left wrist remembering what sat there.
!!KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!!
I turn around to the loud knocking.
I open my door to see a tall man. Well taller than me. Though that's not hard, but I'll never admit that.
"Hi! I'm Hercules Mulligan!" he spoke.
"I'm Alexander." I responded, shaking his outstretched hand.
"I heard you just moved in!"
"Yep."
"I live next door! My mum wanted me to bring you this!" He excitedly held out a pie that seemed to come out of thin air.
"Thanks." I took the pie out of his hands and set it on the table next to the door.
"So are your parents here?" He asked, looking over my head for other people.
"No. I live on my own." I reached down and fiddled with the bracelet on my wrist.
"Oh. Can I come in?"
"Are you an axe murderer?"
"Not the last time I checked."
"Then why not." I stepped to the side to let him in.
Once he was in the living room I closed the door and took the pie he gave me to the kitchen.
"So are you already out of college?" he asked as I walked back into the living room.
"No. I start this semester at Kings."
"So do I!"
"Cool!"
For the next few hours we talked about the future, mainly because I wanted to avoid the topic of the past.
But I had found out that he moved into his apartment just over a month before but still hadn't had the chance to make any friends until now. He told me that he was moving into the dorms of the college tomorrow.
he left only when his mother texted him to be home, but before he left we exchanged numbers.
After he leaves I start to unpack my bag.
I put all my clothes in the closet, and the old things that were actually mine around my room.
I sit at the desk that they bought me and open the laptop that they bought me and start typing.
And typing.
And typing.
And typing.
And typing.
And typing.
And typing.
