Roomies

Chapter One

Kryss' Pov

I'm looking out the Ubers window, thinking about how my new life will be. I'm on my way to college and I'm excited for a new beginning.

I don't even know who my new roomie will be, hopefully she's fun and not a total barbie doll...

It's only a half an hour drive from my house because I'm staying in my hometown, San Francisco.

We pulled up to the busy buildings and I tipped the driver. I got my bags out the of trunk and looked at my new life, only a couple feet in front of me....

I walked through the small crowd of people and made my way to the main building.

When I walked in, there was people walking around everywhere. I looked to my left and there was  a line to the front desk. I walked towards it and got in line behind a girl with long dark brown hair wearing sunglasses.

She noticed me and turned around

"Hi! I'm Alyssa!" She smiled at me
"Hey, I'm Kryss," I shook her hand
"So, are you a freshmen?" She asked
"Yeah, you?" I replied
"Yep!" She popped the 'p'

She had pale skin and a really cute smile.

The line moved and she turned and walked forward.

Then it was her turn,

"Hi!" She waved at the lady
"Name?" The lady said smiling up at her
"Alyssa Gayz" she said bubbly
"Okayyy, so here is your key, don't lose it, and here is your room number" she handed her a key and a small piece of paper

Alyssa moved out of the line and looked at her room number

"Kryss Dark" I said looking down at the lady
"Dark, okay so, here is your key, don't lose it, aaand here is your room number," She gave me a key and slip the same size as Alyssa's.

"So what's your number?" Alyssa asked me

I opened the slip and read the numbers 597

"597, you?" I said looking back up at her

"Ooooo!" She squealed, "590! Where in the same hall!" She said smiling wide

"Cool! Let's go check it out!" I said smiling now too and we walked out the doors.

We walked to the building for 500's and went through the double doors. We walked up five flights of stairs and then decided to use the elevator and go up to level 9.

We stepped out and there was only one other person walking in the hallway

Right away to the left was Alyssa's room but she walked with me to my room.

It was the second to last door on the right side

"Welp, this is me," I said looking at my door. 

"We should hang out later," Alyssa said looking at me
"For sure, good luck with your roommate!" I said smiling at her
"You too, are you doing coed?" She said raising her eyebrows
"Yeah, you?" I said and her eyebrows lifted higher
"No!" She said and giggled, "good luck with that, see you later!" She smiled and walked back to her dorm

Is coed a bad thing?! What does it even mean?

Hopefully it doesn't mean something horrible!

But besides that, I put in my key and unlocked the door. I opened the door and looked around before shutting the door. There's no bags anywhere so I assume my roommate isn't here yet. There was a main area, a decent sized kitchen with an island and some stools. Then two rooms and a bathroom.

Naturally, I picked the biggest room; I kinda feel bad but I mean, I got here first sooo.

I opened up the clean white shutters in my room and looked down at the campus below.

I opened up one of my bags and pulled out a scented candle and lit it up to get the new hotel room smell out.

Just as I sat on the mattress, the door opened. I waited a couple of seconds to get up. I walked out of my bedroom to meet my new roommate.
