Poppy had done it, she had kissed Tallulah. She had kissed a girl and she had never felt happier.
She was glad she kissed Tallulah, but now she had other things to worry about. She wasn't quite sure if she should tell anyone. The only person she knew she wanted to tell, was Oliver.
Poppy: I have exciting news!
Oliver: Did you tell your parents?!
Poppy: Um no
Oliver: Oh well then what is it?
Poppy: I kinda sorta kissed Tallulah
Oliver: POPPY! This is great!
Poppy: Yeah but that's the other thing, I haven't told my parents.
Oliver: I don't think you necessarily have to tell them yet.
Poppy: Really? I mean if you say so, also, I want to ask Tallulah to the homecoming dance that's coming up in a couple of weeks, do you think you could help me?
Oliver: Definitely :)
Poppy breathed a sigh of relief. Talking to Oliver always helped her mental state. She then decided to text Tallulah.
Poppy: Hey
Tallulah: Hi
Poppy: So about that kiss
Tallulah: You mean kisses
Poppy: Lol yes those, does this mean that we're like a thing now?
Tallulah: We can be if you want to, because I know I want to.
Poppy: Okay because I want to too.
Tallulah: Poppy?
Poppy: Yeah
Tallulah: You make me really happy.
Poppy: You took the words out of my mouth. Do you maybe want to go to the park with me tomorrow?
Tallulah: I'd love to.
Poppy: Great! I'll see you tomorrow afternoon :)
Poppy smiled and thought about the girl with the pink hair. Then she logged onto her Pinterest account to find the best way to ask Tallulah to homecoming, and after hours of searching she found the perfect way.
She grabbed her car keys and told her parents that she was going over to Oliver's for the night. She drove to the craft store and picked up the supplies she would need. Then she drove to Oliver's house.
The two of them worked on the special project for hours, took a pizza break, and then worked on it until midnight. By the time they were finished the two of them were covered in paint and glitter glue, but it was worth it.
The next morning consisted of Poppy freaking out about everything. Oliver helped her by rehearsing what she was going to say. About an hour before the park, Poppy took a shower and made sure all the glitter washed out of her hair and skin. She put on light blue jeans, a baby yellow shirt, and her converse. She braided her hair into two Dutch braids and put on some mascara and chapstick. She was ready to ask Tallulah to homecoming, and better yet, she was actually excited to do so.
