PINK

Chapter 7: Rainbow

   Poppy woke up in a panic. Today was homecoming and she was losing her mind. She was excited but also incredibly stressed. She was going with the most beautiful girl ever, but she was still nervous about being seen with Tallulah.
   What would people think? Poppy thought as she washed her hair in the shower. She hadn't even told her parents who she was going with. As far as they knew she was going with some friends.
   Poppy got out of the shower and put on a baggy shirt and tight shorts. She wanted to do her hair and makeup before putting her dress on.
   Poppy had never really told anyone but she was really talented with a makeup palette and a hair brush. She chose a palette with rose gold undertones and went for a warm look. She blended all the hues to her liking and then she took out her eyeliner and made a small wing on both eyes. She continued on with her blush and contour until she finished the look with a peach lip gloss.
   Poppy then plugged in her curling iron. While it was heating up she texted Tallulah to confirm they were meeting at the park to take pictures. Tallulah responded with a thumbs up emoji.
   Poppy then partitioned her hair into sections and went to work with the curling iron. When she was done she had created an elegant updo with brown ringlets framing her face.
   She checked her phone for the time - 3:30. She had 30 minutes until she had to meet Tallulah. She went into her closet to get her dress, pink of course.
   It was light pink with a sweetheart neckline with a rose gold tulle skirt that was slightly above her knees. After getting the dress on, Poppy slipped on pink vans that had a rainbow pattern on the bottom. She put in her earring studs and grabbed her clutch along with her ticket. 
   Poppy drove to the park and saw Tallulah waiting in the parking lot with her mom. Poppy parked the car and practically ran to Tallulah.
   "You look absolutely stunning." Tallulah told Poppy.
   "Thank you. You look amazing too."
   Tallulah had on a classic black suit with her long pink hair down and in waves. To coordinate with Poppy she had on white rainbow vans and a pink bow tie.
   "Ready for some pictures girls?" Dorthy called as she got out her camera.
  The two girls nodded and spent the next half hour taking pictures, some classic and cheesy ones, and others where they showed off their rainbow shoes. However their smiles were genuine in all of them.
   Dorthy said her farewells and the two girls climbed into Poppy's car. They buckled their seatbelts and Tallulah leaned over and kissed Poppy on the cheek.
   "Ready for the best night ever?" Tallulah asked with a smirk.
   "Hell yeah." Poppy said as she leaned over and kissed Tallulah, this time on the lips.
