Tallulah smiled as she saw Poppy walk towards her. She looked stunning, but she always did. Stunning was the perfect word to describe Poppy.
Tallulah pulled Poppy into a hug as soon as she got to her. As the were hugging Poppy laughed and told Tallulah that she had been missing her hugs.
The two girls sat down on a bench overlooking a pond. Poppy was resting her head on Tallulah's shoulder when suddenly she stood up.
"I'll be right back, I forgot something in my car." Poppy said with a slight smile.
"Okie dokie." Tallulah replied as she wondered what Poppy could've possibly forgotten.
Three minutes later Poppy was back and her hands were behind her back.
"What are you hiding?" Tallulah laughed.
"You'll see, cover your eyes."
Poppy set down something behind the behind the bench. Tallulah heard a peculiar noice that sounded mechanical.
"Open your eyes." Poppy said.
Tallulah opened her eyes and saw it was a bubble machine that was making all the racket. She turned around and there was Poppy, holding a sign that read "You blow me away, homecoming?" It was blue and decorated with bubbles. Tallulah immediately nodded her head and ran into Poppy's arms.
"Poppy, you're absolutely amazing."
"I thought bubbles would be fitting as it was our first unofficial date I suppose." Tallulah smiled as she took Poppy's hand.
The two of them walked along the trails for the rest of the afternoon. They picked wildflowers for each other's hair and watched the ducks swim.
As the time dwindled away they watched the sunset over the pond.
"I'm so excited for homecoming." Tallulah beamed.
Poppy pressed her forehead against Tallulah's and kissed her.
"There's no one else I'd rather to go with."
