Chapter Five ; The Ultrasound

*4 Hours Of Waiting In The ER*

Jared: "Did i really see a baby bump? Maybe she just gained weight.. could it be mine? Or is it Jeffery's?..." "i'm never leaving her side again, no matter if she runs away.."

Doctor: "Officer Zillerson?" "She's ready to be seen."

*Jared and the doctor walk their way to room 608 to see Aubry*

Doctor: "Mr. Zillerson, are you aware this woman is pregnant? Do you possibly know who the father is?"

Jared: "I have an idea for who the father is.." *looks at Aubry with pitiful eyes*

Doctor: "Well we wont worry about that right now. We did an Ultrasound and the baby is perfectly fine. But momma isn't. She is in critical shape and we are doing the best we can." "The car crash put her in bad shape and we don't know when she will wake up, but she needs plenty of rest."

Jared: "Thank you doctor."

Doctor: "You're welcome, i will give you some time with her alone." *walks out*

Jared: *Walks over to Aubry* "Im so sorry. I hope you can hear me. I don't know if that child is mine or if it's Jeffery's. If theres a small chance it could be mine, i am going to fight for he or she. It deserves a father that won't abuse it's own mother. I am so sorry Aubry. I hope you can forgive me for not looking for you after you left. I didn't think you wanted to even speak to me."

Aubry: *tries to move my stiff hand onto Jareds* *Tries to open my bruised eyes*

Jared: *quickly looks over at Aubry and one small tear sheds down his cheek* "I'm so sorry Aubry, i wish i could have stopped him sooner."

Aubry: *whispers* "It's okay.." "P-please don't leav-" *starts to have a seizure* *foams from the mouth*

Jared: *runs out into the hall* "WE NEED A DOCTOR, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!"

*Multiple doctors come in and start to inject medicine into her IV tube to make Aubry stop* *Her heartbeat stops again and nurses pull Jared out as he's freaking out and crying a river*

*1 Hour Later*

*Doctor comes out to wake Jared up in a chair he fell asleep in* (11 pm)

Doctor: "Mr. Zillerson... i'm sorry but i don't know if Ms. Langdon will be surviving the night. She's got a huge fracture in her skull. We wrapped her head with white bandage and gave her lots of medicine. If she survives, she's a survivor."

Jared: "Please survive.. for our baby."
